Been playing with some uses of style-transfer, which uses a neural algorithm to... basically try and copy the aethetic style of one image onto the shape of another...
... and I am not the best person to ask how this works by any means. But I've set up a separate script to pick images randomly from two folders, and copy the one onto the other. It does this while my computer is idle (or has been for longer than 5 minutes, anyway) because it slows everything else down, even with a good GPU.
Anyway, I've got a ton of photos, VLC screenshots, game screenshots, etc. set up in one folder. As it runs, randomizing eah combination, I occasionally will check on the output and pick some that look good to upscale later (which means re-processing with better quality and upscaling with waifu2x). Eventually I'll work on getting this automated a bit faster, but in any case these will be mostly-computer-generated imagery in a VR art gallery.
Here's some of my final images and the outputs I liked. In order:
Mewtwo screenshot, MSB (final)
Braixen and Weavile, Pokken Tournament (final)
Cheshire Cat, Serial Experiments Lain (final)
Mewtwo screenshot (draft)
Cheshire Cat (draft)
Parthenon in JanusVR (final)
Temple of the Space Cat (janusvr) (final)
Most of my favorites are mixed with 80′s/retro cyberpunk imagery.
