New Show for the Bay Area!
Well, this calls for an update. There are now (13) thirteen, large-scale paintings on display in San Jose, CA at The Studio Climbing Gym...thanks to our very special friend, Diane Ortega. They will be hanging from now...until the end of March.
Get out to the bay area to peruse the wares, while they are situated in a whole new locale.
Thanks to Touchstone Climbing & their manager for letting me embellish the establishment for the next couple of months with the toils of my labor... while the public to gets a chance to view.

Japaints presents...
"An Art Form to Transform" in collaboration with Constant Clothing.
Way back in March, Craig McKinnon and Constant Clothing approached me with an interesting offer. They were making a run of creative T-shirts with the concept of "Artists Who Climb, Climbers Who Create." Finding the project to be of an interesting and fitting nature, I decided to do some brainstorming and researching of new painting techniques. I found a method of transferring images through paint that was being used by scrapbook makers and used it as a jump off point for the work I would be making. Working with this Xerox transfer method in combination with Acrylic paint, I would make a piece of art that could be transformed into a T-shirt! Voila!
Here is a time lapse video of the process, and a brief explanation for the series. A BIG shout out goes to Craig McKinnon for the offer to participate, and Nicholas Wray, who shot the film.
