Things they should have taught us in Japanese class but didn't: Perforated toilet paper is very rare in Japan. Instead, everyone has these little paper covers that you use to press down and pull to rip the paper neatly. Unfortunately I'm terrible at this and can never get the paper off neatly, so I'm always thinking about the next person to use the facilities who must think I have no idea how to use toilet paper.

just remembered that time I went to Japan and found a tester “hand cream” at 7-11, put a glob in my hands and rubbed it in thinking “hmmm, this is weird hand cream”. Finally, when it wasn’t soaking it, read the bottle and realized that it was god damn shampoo. WHY DO YOU HAVE TESTER SHAMPOO’S AT 7-11 JAPAN? HUH? WHY?
