Hi everyone, Assalamualaikum. I am Ana Farhana from Nara, Japan. I became a Muslimah around 2 years ago, Alhamdulillah . . Before I reverted to Islam, I really think that Islam is a terrifying religion that promotes terrorism. But, after I met & became friends with some Malaysian muslim students during exchange program in my high school, my perspective towards Islam started to change. They are so kind! Their attitute is totally different from what I expected. And beginning from that time, I decided to learn more about Islam . . I've been to Malaysia for lots of times. In a year, I will usually travel to Malaysia around 2-3 times. Yes, I know that's a lot but I really fall in love with Malaysia and always want to go there. I have many muslim friends in Malaysia & it impressed me to see how they treat their family at home. This is also one of the reasons why I started to feel very close to Islam . . Alhamdulillah after 3 years studying about Islam, I finally recited my Syahadah. It was such a touching moment in my life when the day I was longing for, finally happens. I cried along my way from the mosque (that I made syahadah) to the train station . . However, I know that I will have to face many obstacles once I've decided to become a Muslim in a non Muslim country like Japan. But it doesn't make me weak, coz I know Allah is with me and will help me in my journey . . One of the challenges here is regarding wearing hijab. It's not easy to wear it. There are certain times and places that I really struggle to wear it. Even to perform prayer too, isn't an easy thing to do since people here still don't understand about Islam & Muslims . . But one thing that I am grateful for is; my parents accept me as a muslimah, they never stop me from wearing Hijab or practicing Islam in our house.
