Abdul Halim Noda, the first known Japanese Muslim. He became a Muslim after his visit to Istanbul in 1891. Torajiro Noda, a young Japanese journalist went to Istanbul and met with Sultan Abdul Hamid II (d.1918) who asked him to stay in Istabul and to teach the Japanese language to Ottoman officers. During his stay in Istanbul hey met with Abdullah Qulliam (d.1932, 19th century convert from Christianity to Islam) who introduced Noda to Islam and convinced him Islam is the truth.
