Hey shokoninio, Have you ever gotten a weird message from TSRW when trying to import a mesh? It's like "Unmatched number of verticies in group 'group_thin', got 2776 expected 2848" It happened to alot of things i'm working on, so I'm confused. Thanks for your time!
always happens to me xD
This issue happens because there are parts/vertex of the mesh that should not be merged. I could make an explanation about this issue, but it’s difficult to explain it in English .____.
I will say that you should just click “No"
the mesh will import correctly or maybe not xD Sometimes, this problem happens:
As you can see in the preview image, the mesh has an issue with texture and it is because I merged (vertices aren’t together, they’re fused >__<) the vertices in these area(red line) on the UV Map aren’t merged. The mesh should be split as in the UV Map. I hope you understand xDTo fix this problem you must select the faces in MilkShape (The selecet faces must split the vertices which are merged and you must click on “regroup”Select the whole mesh again and you click on regroup again.
That should solve the problem with texture when you import the mesh to the workshop remember to click on “No" in the window
I hope I’ve not confused you more xD
Hey Shokoninio! I Just started going into the world of clothing making, I'd like to ask one thing, do you know how to get rid of neck seams on clothing? I used TSRW to make it. You can see the pics for the seams on my blog if you want. I'm just a little confuzzled to how to get rid of really annoying neck seams. Thanks for taking your time! :)
You’re awesome! Your suspenders are amazing! :D
I guess you are using MilkShape; you should ensure turn off the box “auto smooth” but all your work will be ruined .__. The normals of the neck are aligned incorrectly, to repair the seams you need this:
UniMesh Plugins (msTS2NDM: normal data merge) by WesHowe
A mesh with the neck without accessories, scarves, etc.[preferably the mesh “amTopNude”]
Example Bodies and Faces (source) - will use them to verify that you have repaired correctly the normals
Your mesh xD
1. Install the plugins to MilkShape and unzip your "Example Bodies and Faces" and save them in a folder where you can find them fast.2. Checks if your plugin is installed correctly
2b. That I recommend you change the hotkey to “N” because this will be a tool you’ll use constantly
3. Import your meshes
4. Your mesh with the neck “damage” must be down
5. We will start repair the neckSelect a vertex of the neck, then press “N" (or you can go to the menu → Vertex → Sims2 UniMesh Normal Data Merge V4.09)
[!] Repeat this step(5) for each of the vertices of the neck[you can select vertices directly from the viewport pressing the key Alt or Shift+Alt]
6. to check that you did everything right, imports the file called "amface" from Example Bodies and Faces files
That will be enough to fix the normals of the neck C:if you still have doubts you can ask me again n____n
Hiya, I love you hair retextures. But one thing, I was wondering was, how do you make hair retextures that require a given mesh as a override file? Thanks for taking your time :)
Thank you, I’m glad you like them. ^^As for overrides all you have to do is, grab the original hair mesh, in .package format. Most known hair creators share them as sims3pack, so you have to convert it first.Open the .package hair with S3PE (make sure Names and Tags are ticked at the bottom). The _IMG files are the textures of any package, in this case, the control, textures, normal map and specular (sometimes they don’t have normal map). Right click any of them, and Export > To File. Give them an easy name, I usually name them for whatever they are, if it’s the control I name it control. Those are the files you should edit with your preferred editing program.Once edited, you should replace them with the originals. So once again, right click the _IMG file, and choose Replace… (find you edited file and replace. It will be easier if you keep everything in one single folder). If you save your .package as it is, and you have the original already installed, they will conflict because they are basically the same file. So what you have to do now is delete everything that is not _IMG. Just right click and Deleted, or Supr in your keyboard. All your .package should have are the textures. Unless you also want to change the categories, in that case don’t delete CASP. If you also want to change the thumbnail (if the original has one), don’t delete THUM.Save your .package and give it a proper name. This is the file that should be placed in your Overrides folder, while the original hair mesh in your Package folder, or installed through the launcher in case it’s a sims3pack.
