hello there! bit of a weird request, but i'm doing a presentation about the Harry Potter fandom's push-back against Rowling's transphobia and was wondering if i could use your comic from the Trans-Affirming Magical Care zine (with credit) in my slides? :)

Yeah, go for it! Here’s a link to the full comic on tumblr, and here is a good review of the book it was initially published in. I’ve also written another longer comic critiquing JKR and meditating on being a HP fan. Here is a short video the Washington Post did which interviewed me and a bunch of other trans and nonbinary HP fans in June 2020. I was also briefly interviewed in this Dec 2019 Vanity Fair article about Harry Potter as well :)

university asks: 7 (dream job) + 8 (uni expectations vs reality) + 13 (favourite class)!

7. What’s your dream job?

hopefully i’ll end up being either a director of a big-budget, oscar’s-worthy or cannes film festival or golden-globes film or a producer of a small indie film!

8. Has university been what you expected it to be?

honestly, uni wasn’t what i expected it to be in terms of social life; it’s not exactly better or worse, just different. i’m making a lot more friends in clubs, and for a university that’s my size (i attend a very large uni of about 60k i think?), people are a lot more connected to each other than i realize, and it’s a small world! academically, it’s just what i expected, if not easier. i haven’t pulled any real all-nighters yet thankfully!

13. What has been your favourite class you’ve taken?i

oh man, it’s probably gotta be my intro to film class as of the moment. it directly pertains to my major, and i really enjoy film (even if i don’t like everyone in the class, but it’s a weed-out core class, so it makes sense not everyone wants to be there). my professors are also all very kind and sweet and understanding, so i’m all very excited to be in it!
