Ethan had never expected his request to be approved so smoothly.  Begging and pleading had never been on the table, but he thought some sort of tactile persuasion was required.  His boss had heard the words 'collaboration with local businesses' and immediately said yes. Which, worked out well for Ethan, no big speeches nor a sales pitch was required, something he was extremely thankful for. 

In charge of lock up and clean up, Ethan quickly switched the open sign to closed and sent off an excited text to Jasmine telling her to come by whenever she was ready. Having sunshine personified as a work neighbour resulted in fast friendship and, with someone as creative and sweet as Jasmine, Ethan never had a dull moment. Bursting at the seams with ideas, Ethan was soon caught in her current idea — it was a damn good one too. Logistically, he had no clue how ice cream and hot chocolate would work without turning into a puddle of mess, but Jas was sure in her belief and Ethan was rather curious to try it out. 

As the knock on the door came, Ethan beamed wide at the figure on the other side and hurried to get the door and helped her in. “You ready for this? Not going to lie...I'm really excited.”

What is the silliest argument you have ever been in?

“I think it was one of the twins and whether or not being able to steal someone’s nose was actually possible or not. Tahj won me over in the end. You can definitely steal someone’s nose when they aren’t paying attention.”

What are you grateful for?

“My health. My family and my friends. My job. The opportunities that I have.”

Can you name one goal of yours for the next few years? Do you have any plans to work towards it? Why or why not?

“I’m going back to school to get my criminal justice degree and I’m currently studying for my sergeant’s exam. If everything goes like I hope, I can make lieutenant in a few years because California law stipulates a college degree and two years’ worth of sergeant experience.”
