“  remember why you said this was the last time?  ”                         he looks over at jason standing there in the doorway with glazed over eyes.  he told miecz to go to bed this time, one of them needed to have slept for some hours.  he’s sure that miecz is still up, and maybe he’s even gearing up to come back out into the living room of their home because the door opened and closed.  tj has a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, split in half, sitting on the island in the kitchen.  a glass of cold milk to compliment it.  there’s a blanket in his arms and even if jason is high, he’s going to try to help.

❝ i shit you not, this carnival has the best fucking road shack burger and chips you'll ever fucking have, ❞ sleep had evaded cosmo for two days and counting, with visible shadows under his eyes cosmo looked like death rolled over but that didn't stop him from ushering jason through the various tents and stalls offering between sideshow acts, handcrafted merchandise, tarot readings and all other manner of entertainments.

" jase. . . you know you can tell me anything, right? " @jasnstilnski was almost always hiding something. he'd grown used to needing to either pry or spy to know what's actually happening in his son's life. it's not jase's fault, just like it wasn't tj's fault when he found himself in similar situations. " we can't help you if you don't let us in. " those words never helped him, would they help jase? even as he settles next to him on the couch with a half a sandwich for each of them to eat while they're talking he's not so sure. but he's never been all that good at this part of being a caretaker.

the downpour had been going on for most of the day , which was why he'd sent jason to school with the umberella that currently shield's him from the rain. if only he had remembered to bring himself along a jacket when it was time to pick him up.

the congestion on the roads to school having miecz parking up a good two blocks away and walking , which now he's regretting , mostly because he was wearing white and skin beneath was starting to show. not a good look when picking up your son.

stopping at a crosswalk , the feel of raindrops against his skin suddently stops and with a sigh of relief he thanks whatever god was up there under his breath until he realizes the reason wasn't some holy interference but the boy beside him shielding him from the rain whilst curling into his side.

an arm wrapped around jason's shoulders drawing him in as close as he could and with his free hand he took control of the umbrella and began to guide him across the road. almost there.

" thanks , kid. i'm glad i taught you one thing. " he jokes with a laugh , pausing to take jason's backpack so he can sling it across his own back to better hold onto his son. " hey , you wanna stop for pizza on the way home ? "

“I’m going to murder his fucking face off!”

"Ooh," Ryder drawled with a little grin, "What he'd do?"

He took a bite out of the waffle that he had snatched off of the counter before leaning into the other's personal space. Simply peering over Jason's shoulder to get a glance at his phone. Maybe he should have been more concerned about the fact that Jason was talking about murdering someone but he thought that it was fine. For now. He might have been waiting for a clear sign that he should be concerned but for right now? He was treating it like it was some high school drama.

"Do we hate him now?"

“You were sick. I didn’t want to leave you.” 

"I wasn't that sick." Despite the words, the blonde did not move from where he was curled up against the couch. He was not sure how long he had been asleep for -- To be completely honest, he did not remember when he fell asleep. He barely even remembered when he and Jason had even gotten home. Another second dragged by before he peeked an eye out from where he had tried his best to bundle himself into a blanket burrito. A sharp tug was given in an attempt to dislodge Jason from where he was in an attempt to steal the blanket from beneath him.

"But you decided to try and smother me instead?" The words were grumbled again before he was wrapping it around his shoulders. "You're gonna get sick, too, then."

But maybe it would help him to see other worlds?

"   how   in   the   hell   is   being   a   whole   dimention   away   from   his   family   supposed   to   help   him   ?         "

Just let Jason go traveling, it broadens the mind.

"   how   about   you   shut   the   fuck   up   and   let   me   deal   with   my   kid   ,   alright   ?         it's   not   like   he's   headed   to   florida   for   the   weekend.      it's   way   more   complicated   than   just   traveling.      "
