Shutting the door you sighed and leaned against it. The Halloween rush had been insane and you were more than happy to have a few days off. You’d closed your eyes and leaned your head back against the door.

Forget Me | Jason Stackhouse
Summary; they should no longer be together, but Jason will not let his love go. And that gives her no other option than to make the decision for him.
Warnings; angst, heartbreak, break up, crying, mentions of death and gore
He was a good man, a deputy now. Jason Stackhouse had done what he had always managed to do; succeed by scaling up the ladder.
There was nothing that he couldn’t handle, or at least that is what the people of the town may have thought, and perhaps him too.
But this, this was not easy, it was not acceptable. Not when he came home, his clothes lathered in camp guts, and his footsteps marked in their red tragedy.
He was killing vampires, one by one, slaying them as though he thought he was Buffy. It was unsettling, and sickening all together.
The smell alone had you heaving in disgust, your face wrinkling in both horror and fear.
If he could so easily throttle a blood sucking stranger, he could do anything. And that included picking you from the planet, same as them.
You were no different from his victims, whether they were killers or not. All of you consumed blood, whether it be that True stuff, or the real thing.
All of you carried V in your veins, like walking drugs. They were your kin, the lines of your makers going back far, and distantly connecting to make some messed up family tree.
“Let me just get in the shower quick, and we can get started on dinner.” The blonde smiled, it was always a shared experience; cooking together, even if you were not one to ingest the creation.
“Jason.” His name felt like a plea as it fell over your lips. He froze, unsure of why your tone sounded so meek, and uncertain in general.
“What is if darling.” He took a bloody step forward, only for you to take two more backwards in return.
“We can’t be together anymore.” His brown eyes widened, unexpecting of the news that you had just delivered him. “I don’t think that this - us, is working anymore.”
Jason sighed, raking one of his rough hands through his inside greased hair. It was a convicting notion, a guilty one as more of his skin was lathered in the remains of his victim.
“Darling, settle down and tell me what this is about.” There was a crease in the middle of his brows, confusion written over his firm face.
“You, and your hunt for vampires.” You gulped at voicing what frightened you, fearing that he would snap and envision you as another body that was overdue on its existence.
“I’m protecting the town, it’s my duty.” Jason retorted. “Now, don’t go, otherwise you’ll break my heart, I’m pretty sure I’m in love with you, and I don’t want to lose something so good and pure.”
“There’s nothing pure about it.” You spoke, knowing that one day you may regret your words, but not now as they came splurging out. “Because I’m a vampire too, and I know that you try and forget that, but it’s the truth. And I don’t know if I’ll wake up and the curtains will be open, crisping my skin to dust, or you’ll awaken me with a good morning kiss and a stake to the heart.”
Your shoulders drop, relieved that finally all had been revealed, and you were carrying no more weight upon them. Except for him, he was the heaviest of the load, and you’d be damned if you couldn’t lose him too.
It’s not like you wanted to, but it was the right option for your own survival. You could never be sure with humans, you remembered how it was when you were one.
It was all about greed and lust, the corruptness of the world that could end a life, or vastly richen one.
“You know me.” Was his shirt argument, one that hardly seemed convincing since you were not sure that you did anymore. “I’d never lay a finger on you, it’s my last intention. You have to believe me y/n, please!”
“Last intentions become pretty important when you invest your all into it. And I’d rather not take the risk, goodby Jason.” You went to turn your back, but a sob cracked through the air.
The Jason Stackhouse was crying, tears falling from his eyes like rain, running down his face in streaks. “Please don’t.”
“It’s okay Jay, I’ll make it easier for the both of us.” You stepped closer, looking directly into his eyes as though it were the last time, feeling them connect and stretch to your own.
“I, y/n y/l/n, as nothing to you, besides another vampire. You will not remember anything explicit nor romantic between the two of us, it’s all gone. There is no relationship, or love, only a single deputy, that has his head on straight and no intentions to get with me.”
Now you could turn, and allow your words to sink into his mind, compelling it to believe something other than the truth.
The truth was nonsense, it was dangerous. It was cruel, and it would have broken him to keep those memoirs rattling around in his brain. You gave him peace, as he had to many of your kind.
It in fact was not easier for the both of you, only him. He no longer had to live with the memories, good or bad, that came flashing through your skull like a memorial tribute.
It was the end and you were just another vampire. And if he wanted to kill you, he would.
What do you think Jason Stackhouse would be like as a husband/father to his children?
ALWAYS playing a sport with the little boy or girl. Specifically baseball.
Bringing flowers home to his wife every week.
Bringing his kids in his squad car.
Family movie night.
Embarrassing the kids when they’re teens.
PDA with his wife.
Just being a damn good man.

“Oh! (Y/N)!” your older neighbour called as you unlocked your door. She had a box of treats in her hand. Homemade sweets from the look of it.

Jason looked up as someone approached his desk. You burst in, coming out of the light rain as you waggled your umbrella to knock off the worst of the rain. “Oh good you’re still here I have a disaster.”
