Longstanding collab with wife for our mermaid AU Oath In the Storm! This is the clothed version because I’m a chicken, but I really like how it turned out all the same. I’m struggling on brushes for painting backgrounds effectively... But I ganked a Deviantart brush to save my sanity on Garnet’s hair, and oh my god why did I never do this before. Oof.
Still debating Pearl’s sparklepoo scales, and this scene is... arguably one where she wouldn’t have them, but it’s pretty. I love her trying and failing so utterly at ‘hello fellow humans.’
Bonus of the rest of her face since I knew going in that Garnet’s shoulder would obscure the whole thing, but I still love how her expression turned out. Her thoughts are a million miles away, poor dear.
