Seriously, I don’t dislike Jasper because of how she looks and I don’t dislike her just because she is butch.  I like how she looks to be honest.  It is her personality that I dislike.  Jasper’s actions and personality always bothered me.

Okay okay last thing about the leaks for awhie: something I really loved was seeing that Jasper is the real oddity among Quartz's, for all her supposed perfect status, because all the other Quartz's are just as goofy and fun loving and prank loving as Amethyst. For all that Jasper tried to tear down Amethyst's confidence, it's her who's the strange outsider - regular Quartz's, be they Jaspers or Amethysts or Carnelians, they aren't innately cruel, abusive, manipulative...that was just Jasper.

"Jasper went down as she lived - being abrasive and violent." or fighting a losing battle against a foe she views a responsible for the loss of her home and her ultimate guardian/authority figure whom she has fought for since she first emerged, making her basically a child soldier. While certain in her mind that her enemy is lying to her and trying to psychologically manipulate her. I mean in that shot she is a wounded soldier and wounded people lash out because they expect to be harmed.

jasper sucks and is an abusive and violent cretin who was never a child soldier because gems are never children this is literally canon gems come from the ground fully grown and aware of their role in society, you are sadly mistaken in your efforts to humanize a giant creep.

I see a lot of people talking about how Earthlings finally made Jasper sympathetic but not nearly as many talking about the fact that she literally held a gem down and forced them to fuse with her, then when they broke free tried to so it again before failing, leaving the gem she'd forced to fuse yipping with terror as it fled from the forced captivity and violent treatment she'd tried to force it to accept... like... was this episode really making Jasper sympathetic?

Man if I was Clarke’s mother I would ripped into that boy like “Son, my daughter did kill Finn, but it was to save him from horrific continuous torture that would have continued until his death and she did it despite how much it hurt her to do so. She killed those people in Mount Weather to save ME and ALL OF US from suffering an even worse fate and it burdened her so much she now wonders this planet haunted and alone and you here crying and acting up serious angst over ONE GIRL??????”

But that’s just me. And yeah I get they are playing like he is upset over all of them but let us be real here.

Fan art of Jasper that either ships her with someone or has her being redeemed and doing silly stuff like wearing the Frybo suit bug me. Like, I can handle Peridot being introduced to human food by Steven and accidentally eating one of her fingers while dining on fries. But Jasper is beyond redemption for me.

Jasper is one of those characters that an an idea I find fascinating but is also a person I find to be super icky And the great thing is that if she was on another show, I'd feel compelled to defend her because she would be one of maybe three other female characters But because she's on a show filled with all kinds of female characters I don't have to do that and can dislike her as the narrative intends I should.
