Since I can't post photos of the book I'm reading (they're all ebooks), and because I enjoy it, I'll also post my impressions about the books I'm reading.Book challenge day 1:
- Emma, Jane Austen. A very "Jane-Austen"ish book, nothing very new, nothing very exceptional, but enjoyable ; reminds me of the "britishness" and, tbh, the occidentalness I'm missing here in Japan.
- Lost in a Good Book, Jasper Fforde. Disappointing. I liked the Jane Eyre affair a lot more, this one feels artificial, everything goes too fast, the puns are piling up so it doesn't let us time to breath or smile, we're just tired of this chase for laugh and smart puns. Really, a disapointment.
- La Tentation de saint Antoine, Gustave Flaubert. Just started yesterday.
- The Goldfinch, Donna Tartt: I don't know if I'll finish it, I find it really bad. I started because it's so popular and looked like an "easy" and "distracting" read, but in the end, it's so bad, so expected, the handling of sadness and mourning it just so common and subtlety-lacking, it's a pain to read it.
