[One day, a letter is left on Gerry's desk from Elias. It seems to be reguarding a new hire in the archives: some ex library worker in his sixties was going to be working alongside Gerry. It was clear, however, that Gerry was to be given no say in this decision]

[And, right on cue, a large man with greying hair makes his way down to Gerry's office holding a handful of cardboard boxes. Great.]

[gerry blinks. he wants to scream, but no. just. keep calm. he had a crisis and accidentally said too much when cam was hired. can’t have that happening again.]

[they put down the letter, and look at jasper.]

hey, uh— you the new hire, then? need help with that?

[sword-assistant]

[jasper walks into the archives, and makes his way over to his desk. gerry’s there and he’s stacking a rather… insane, amount of paperwork onto his desk.]

[The old man looks stunned for a moment, before regaining his composition. Surely, there must be a rational explanation for this.]

Soooo, you like musical theatre, dislike circus, what about other arts for the stage? Shakespeare, Commedia dell'arte, pantomime, opera, cabaret, burlesque, vaudeville, promenade, dance, ballet, harlequinade??? whatever else there is??

Well, most forms of dance wind up being very entertaining to watch, though in my old age I don't see myself performing them any time soon.

Shakespeare will always have a place in my heart, especially The Scottish Play and Romeo and Juliet.

Pantomime feels all too childish too me, honestly. I dont have much too say.

Opera, however: I was very close to becoming an opera singer earlier in my life, although it never really went anywhere.

A few of my favourites are the Gladius, the Claymore and the Longsword. I also really like the kampilan, though I have never gotten to use one personally. Now if you will excuse me, I have around thirty statements to get through.

I appreciate the amount of skill that performers must have in order to complete their acts, but the circus is not for me. It never has been.
