Damage control
This had been the last straw. Surely, there was no way that she missed a whole group of Homeworld Gems, arriving on Earth on a Homeworld Ship, landing somewhere and being left behind for some sort of mission.
She had missed it. Garnet had been too distracted as of lately to look for potential things she didn’t expect, and this was a direct consequence. She had to take care of the problem, one way or the other. It did not matter whether or not their mission involved Earth itself. It did not matter whether or not the Gems were friendly, or had been friendly in the past. It did not matter whether or not there was a whole group waiting for her.
She could handle this. They could handle this. Like the last time something big happened, she was not alone. Well, she was never truly alone, but she had some great backup. Not that Amethyst and Pearl (and Steven, of course) were weak, but Jasper was a trained, elite, ultimate warrior, and she trusted her just as much as the other three.
Plus, Timehop would be with them, right? She did not want the corrupt Gem to indulge in any fighting if she didn’t have to or want to, but simply having her around might defect others from the idea of a fight. Plus, if push did come to shove, she knew Timehop was rather. Strong, really. She had experienced that first-hand more than once.
Finally, she led the other two Gems to the nearest Warp Pad. It wasn’t a long trip, not with Timehop, and now with the Warp Pads. She activated it, and, with a flash, they were gone.
Only a few minutes later, Garnet was looking down at a lonely farm, sitting on top of the large corrupted Gem. It must have been an imposing sight for anyone who cared to look, with such a Gem as Timehop, with Garnet on top and Jasper just behind.
Whatever it was that was happening, she would make sure Earth was unharmed.
