hey there! I adore your edits and am actually hoping to make some idolsonas of my own but I haven't edited in yeeears. Do you have any tips or tutorials for beginners?
For starters, there’s lots of tutorials online, just general card editing ones are a good start. Also the love Live amino has quite a few tutorials as well! I don’t think I can give any tips about basic card editing that you won’t find in tutorials. I actually learned a lot by just trying things out.
I’ll give some tips about making oc’s though!
For the hairstyles I just combined parts of existing cards. Jun for example has Rin’s bangs and Eli’s ponytail. The little ahoge is from an N girl, and she has Rin’s eyes. Each of my oc’s has a different characters’ bangs and eyes, this makes them look more unique instead of just a recolor of an existing character.
When I choose a card to change into an OC I make sure that the pose and outfit fit with my oc’s personality, but also how difficult it would be. For example if the existing characters’ hair covers part of their body, but my oc’s hair wouldn’t, will I be able to draw what the hair covers? It might be too difficult sometimes and I’ll have to find a different base.
I also don’t really have a set “base” for any of my oc’s. Like I said I just pick a base depending on the outfit and pose. Though this is more of a personal preference. I do try not to use third years for first year oc’s and vice versa(though there are exceptions, like Momo and Shiori).
