Passing Through JetBlue's JFK Terminal 5 Today? So is the Cast of 'Gossip Girl'

Our favorite Upper East Siders are trading in the streets of Manhattan for the baggage claim at JFK today.

That's right, the cast of Gossip Girl is expected to shoot several scenes around the Terminal 5 baggage claim at JFK International Airport later this afternoon.

Though we're not sure what they are filming or which characters will be involved, we're guessing we might see some JetBlue product placement when the episode airs early next year, since Terminal 5 is used by JetBlue for both domestic & international departures.

We also heard Gossip Girl is using the now utilizing the JFK Ramada Plaza Hotel as a staging area for the shoot. The hotel had such a bad reputation before it shut down, Blair Waldorf wouldn't have been caught dead anywhere near it.

LV Air Takes More Baby Steps Towards Becoming a Real Airline || Jaunted

Who remembers the debacle that was Jet America? The airline, which thought it'd be brilliant and base its operations in Toledo, Ohio and fly around for ridiculously cheap prices, folded before they could even paint the livery on an airplane. Upon hearing about the impending launch of LV Air later this summer, we wondered if they'd be 2011's Jet America.

LV Air has its sights set on the NYC to Las Vegas direct route, doing essentially a charter service that bring the Vegas experience to you the moment you step onboard (complete with "holographic" safety announcement by Vegas celebs).

Despite having a website that looks like it belongs to a condo development, LV Air is actually doing something. In addition to announcing their intentions to outfit the plane with iPads and seat-to-seat messaging for entertainment, they've actually gone and tentatively made arrangement with a Las Vegas hotel to house their crew. That means there are actual people involved with LV Air! It might actually fly!

The hotel chosen is the Rumor Boutique Hotel & Resort, who actually announcements their new LV Air friendship on their Blog, noting that the "style and attitude" of Rumor fits LV Air's brand. There's no casino, the pool is always open and the whole place lacks the uptight faux luxury of most Strip hotels. Now we've actually stayed at Rumor several nights ourselves, and can say that the style and attitude is more Virgin America meets PanAm, so this bodes well for LV Air.

Rest assured that we'll let you know as soon as LV Air makes any more movements, although word is that casinos and tour operators will have first go at the seats, rather than regular online bookers like you and I.
