INTERVIEW: JAY ANZALDO OF JADE MOON
Jade Moon is an indie band from Pomona, California that has been making waves in the scene since January 2016. Comprised of SoCal natives Jay Anzaldo (Bass), Andrew Martinez (Vocals/Guitar), and Edgar Franco (Drums), the group assembles a sound reminiscent of acts such as Joy Division and Interpol, then adding their own twist. It all started at a house show Jay had been performing at with an old band where he met Andrew, who had been filming for a band called the Red Pears. Andrew and Edgar had already been calling themselves Jade Moon before they met Jay, but with his introduction a full band was born. Now, with a demo EP and a couple of singles under their belts, the trio is getting set to gift us all with some new music, so I caught up with bassits Jay Anzaldo to see just what Jade Moon is all about.
