I am the exact target demographic for Starfleet Academy. I love watching young folks try to figure out how to be people. I've seen some boomers online dismiss the show and say the "lessons" are overdone and shallow, but I think every generation-- every person-- struggles to figure out these same lessons over and over. I am not bothered by watching Sam learn to "just be herself," I'm not bothered by watching Caleb learn to trust people. I think it's a very realistic depiction of young adults. As someone currently in college, I feel like these cadets are my peers. This a love letter to the franchise's young fandom and I think it's beautiful. Also Jay-den is so hot
