"aces/bisexuals experience straight passing privilege," "neopronouns make us look bad," "nonbinaries have cis passing privilege/need to be perfectly androgynous or they're transtrenders," "trenders are transitioning for the clout," "trans women experience male privilege," and similar sources of division have always appeared at times when it is convenient for our oppressors (because they've always been psyops). right now, as trans rights are being threatened across the globe, as fascism is on the rise almost everywhere, and as more trans people are finding it harder and harder to access life-saving medication, it is hard to imagine a better moment for us to be bickering over something that just doesn't fucking matter right now. don't let this distract you from your IRL communities, and don't let it divide the little political power we have managed to scrape together.

i'm gonna be vaguepost and be asshole here for a second; consuming black-made media or media from black-made genres doesn't make you less racist. many racists enjoy jazz, or rap, or R&B. antisemites like Mel Brooks movies. Homophobes like Hollywood. you can't consume your way out of bigotry, and consequently, you don't need to feel bad if you don't like certain genres. it doesn't matter as long as you're working to be less racist in your actions

that being said, you should listen to music from cultures and subcultures that aren't your own, because it's good to broaden your horizons and learn about the many ways of being a person and making art and telling stories. it's good to learn and grow and we should all be working to do that. but you don't need to consume media you don't like because it ups your Woke Score or whatever. i'm not holding a gun to your head, demanding you listen to my favorite commie klezmer artists. be free
