JAYACHANDRAN SIR - January 09 2025
P JAYACHANDRAN The silken voice of Jayachandran Sir resonates with us ever since he put our minds to peace with Raja Sir's classical "Raasathi Unnai". In fact, he owned the entire Vaithehi Kathirunthaal Album with "Kaathirunthu" and "Indraikku Yaen". As we grew up with Rahman, the man seamlessly rendered his voice for pain and pathos with songs like "En Mel Vizhuntha" "Oru Deivam Thantha Poove". As age and maturity caught up, I discovered more of his gems like "Kodiyile", "Chittirai Nilavu", "Poova Eduthu", "Vasanthakala Nadigalile" "Chittirai Sevvanam" "Chinna Poove" "Andhi Nera" "Mainaave" and "Kathal Vennila". This list is a few favourites of primitive music lovers like us. This tweet from Balakumar Sir would introduce you to some of his other lovely songs in Tamil. I wasn't fortunate to acquaint with his vast and valuable Malayalam playlist. Over the years, Jayachandran Sir made the right noise for his fitness routine through which he ushered in the importance of health for a generation. As he bids adieu to the world, he would embrace immortality as his voice and the soothing effect it had will live on for generations. Rest in Peace, Jayachandran Sir
