Equal Rights, Equal Fights-🌈 Queer Family Representation
Rowan Todd-Quinzel inherited many things from his parents.
From Jason: poor decision making.
From Roy: absolutely no self-preservation instincts.
This becomes relevant when someone says something rude about his family.
Warnings: Homophobia, school bullying, protective Rowan, one punched bigot. 🌈👊
The principal looked tired.
Across from her sat Alice, Jason, and Roy.
None of them looked concerned.
This was somehow making things worse.
"Your son punched another student."
"What would you like me to do with this information?"
The principal immediately pointed at him.
The principal closed her eyes.
Already regretting this meeting.
Rowan counted on his fingers.
"He said boys can't like boys."
"He said girls can't like girls."
"He said my family wasn't a real family."
The principal suddenly understood why nobody had been worried before.
The principal made a strangled noise.
"He was twice Rowan's size!"
There was a knock on the office door.
A teacher poked her head inside.
"The fourth grade has started calling him Pride Batman."
Roy immediately fell out of his chair.
Alice buried her face in her hands.
Jason looked suspiciously proud.
The principal looked like she was considering retirement.
"He defended someone and punched a homophobe."
Finally the principal looked at Rowan.
"You cannot punch people."
Everyone immediately became nervous.
"What if they're being mean again?"
"What if they're being mean to someone else?"
Later that night the family group chat exploded.
Harley: THAT'S MY GRANDSON 💕💕
Damian: How much larger was the child?
Several people reacted with heart emojis.
Bruce left the group chat.
Some children inherit their parents' eyes.
Some inherit their smile.
Rowan Todd-Quinzel inherited a very strong sense of justice.
Unfortunately for Gotham, he also inherited violence.
It was a dangerous combination.
