Cassandra gagged and retched a little, recalling exactly what those lycans tasted like. She had been curious in her younger years, thinking they would make an easy meal if the girls needed something quick to eat. The taste was vile, and just the memory of the action was enough to make her tongue feel like it was coated in their black blood.
“Ugh, I feel your pain in regards to those things. Also, thanks for reminding me what they tasted like. I thought I had moved past that rot. Clearly that wasn’t the case.” Maybe she could swipe a bottle of wine or grab an unloved maid for a quick palette cleanse. “Not that I need to tell you, since you’ve learned your lesson with the lycans, but don’t go nibbling on the things in the castle dungeon or roof. They’re drained dry, so I imagine they’re the jerky version of the lycans.”
Cassandra considered the question for a few moments before chuckling a little. “Well, to be fair, mother accepts Daniela, so I think you’ll be fine... She also accepts me. And, if I’m to be honest? Despite being the middle child, I’m the worst of the three. You can only do better than me.” To be fair, the brunette had no idea how her mother would react to Jay, but if she showed herself as refined and only a little animalistic when the time calls for it, she assumed there would be no problem.
“Oh yeah, sure. Outside companion. That will probably be perfectly fine. Mother has a lot of those. She’ll especially love you if you can bring some sort of business incentive or opportunity to the castle.”
