a study of lycanthropy (and jayce talis) by Anonymous
Viktor doesn't know much about werewolves.
Fortunately, his partner is a werewolf. Unfortunately, his partner won't tell him anything about it.
So Viktor starts secretly taking notes on him instead.
fellas, is it gay to flirt with your roommate? (yes, yes it is) by Bwebeks 5.5k
Straight bros flirt all the time just for fun. Viktor most likely flirts with him for that exact reason, but Jayce isn't just doing it for fun. He's in love with his roommate. He doesn't know if God would appreciate that, but his mother certainly wouldn't. Cue crisis mid church event.
Drive Thru AU by corazondegirasol 6.8k words
Jayce is a drive-thru cashier with a crush on a regular. The regular is most certainly flirting back. Will it ever go past their limited interactions?
Press Send by leusinia 6.8k words
Viktor took his sleeping pills, but he didn't sleep as he should... That was a mistake, but a mistake Jayce would enjoy as some dirty messages start spamming his phone.
survival instincts (and the lack thereof) by Anonymous 7.5k words
When renting an apartment by himself finally became a viable option for Jayce, he'd been confident in his ability to live alone. But that was before his apartment was blown up, and now, much to his chagrin, he has to look for a roommate.
And that's how Jayce meets Viktor.
who's gonna drive you home tonight by joeywho 8.2k words
While out on a date, Viktor gets a text from his roommate, Jayce. After Jayce bails him out of the terrible dinner, the two of them go stargazing… and maybe take advantage of the privacy.
the last drop by Anonymous 10.8k words
When a summer internship falls through, Jayce must resign himself to sacrificing his dignity to online job postings and employers who are too trigger-happy when it comes to sending rejections—except for one: an amusement park called The Last Drop.
Jayce will take what he can get. Spending the summer working as a carnie (though Jayce is aware it won't all be sunshine and rainbows, and it's not like he'd be meeting the love of his life there) can't be that bad, he supposes.
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul by stupidsarah 10.9k words
"What is it, Viktor?” He asks, half paying attention as he is now locked onto marking up the skin of Viktor’s neck. From his voice alone Viktor can tell that he is dazed, out of body, taken from his head with Viktor all pliable and hot underneath his touch.
“Your truck. Let’s go.” Viktor pants, Jayce biting his collarbone where it peeks out from the neckline of Viktor’s sleep shirt before lifting his head. He stares down at Viktor, who grazes his eyes over Jayce’s face. His eyes are dark, his pupils blown, his lips kiss-swollen and shiny from exploring along Viktor’s skin.
“You mean…” Jayce asks, breathlessly, excited.
Viktor nods.
Jayce and Viktor have been best friends since elementary school. Now, as hormones wrack through their teenage bodies, they decide to lose their virginities to each other.
The things we hold onto by w3ll_y3s 11.5k words
For Jayce and Viktor, their lives were almost as intertwined as any two lives could be: best friends, research partners, and now they’d be roommates. Squirreling away your feelings is a lot harder when all the hiding places are one thin wall away from the very person you’re hiding them from. In the midst of combining their lives, they may unpack more than just boxes.
———
A reflection on sentimentality, the people and things we hold dear, and seeing the different ways that love can be carried through life, both literally and figuratively. A story about the introspection that comes along with packing and unpacking your life when you move.
Love You a Latke by fujofrankenstein 11.7k
The frantic pace of Viktor’s heart only settles once he’s placing the two candles in the simple brass menorah his mother had owned, sinking into that sacred space of nostalgia and memory. “It’s…” Viktor murmurs, awed at the gift Jayce has given him. “It’s been so long since I’ve… since I’ve done this with another person. It… it means a lot to me, Jayce. You are a good friend. Thank you.”
The grin Jayce gives him is devastating as he says, “Wouldn’t miss it for the world, V.”
notes: cannot stress enough how lovely this fic is. As someone who has never celebrated Hanukkah, it was so cool and sweet to learn about it through a similar lens to Jayce in this fic. (the one where you learn about it because it is important to someone) <3
Red Skins * by Lilwystynyra 13.2k words
Jayce and his friends gather for a mid-2000s sleepover — movies, junk food, alcohol, and party games. Somewhere between Truth or Dare and a shared blanket, Jayce realises his crush on Viktor might not be as hopeless as he thought.
Over the course of one chaotic, messy, and surprisingly tender night, awkward touches turn into something more. By morning, Jayce and Viktor have gone from friends to something else entirely — even if they’re still figuring out what that means
*This story references Red Skins, the original name of an Australian candy now known as Red Ripperz.
***************
Viktor, unable to pry the controller from Jayce’s hands, was now practically lying in his lap with his arms wrapped around it, Jayce’s hands trapped beneath. Jayce watched on screen as Yoshi — now controlled by Jinx — took first place. As soon as she did, Viktor released his death grip, and Jayce managed to steer into second. Viktor stayed where he was, laughing and gasping, sprawled on his back across Jayce.
Salt and Honey by 27dragons 14.7k words
There's a mole peeking out from underneath, and Jayce nuzzles in even closer to kiss it, and when the cloth shifts, he can see several more moles clustered nearby, in a shape a little smaller than Jayce's palm.
They're in the shape of the constellation Cassiopeia.
Jayce stops, staring at it.
A negative image of the sky, dark stars shining against the pale skin of Viktor's inner left thigh.
Viktor tries another shove and Jayce barely even notices it. He can't look away.
Viktor's hand loosens in Jayce's hair. "Ah, Jayce? Are you okay?"
"Uh. Uh, yeah," Jayce manages. "It's just, you just, uh. You have this little cluster of moles right here?" He brushes his thumb over them. "In the shape of Cassiopeia. The constellation."
"Yes?" Viktor props himself up on his elbows to look at Jayce more easily. "I have quite a few, I'm sure you have noticed. They are not harmful. Is it-- Do they bother you?"
"What? No! No, no, I just, um. I've seen them before."
notes: Viktor is a camboy and Jayce is a fan, accidental meeting
Just Practice by kittycatmewow 15.6k words
They've been inseparable since freshman year, late-night study sessions, science fairs, and sleepovers that never really ended. Jayce swears they're just friends, even when Viktor curls up next to him on the couch, even when their "practice" kisses start lasting a little too long.
Now that they're seniors, pretending it's nothing gets harder every day. Because maybe it isn't just practice anymore. Maybe it never was.
