My homegirl and fellow #texasbama came through with a reminder for the other "cradle of the civil rights movement" (next to Atlanta), which will send a message to the world today #forbetterorworse "Because here in the Cradle of Civil Rights, civil rights has too often come to mean MY rights. You have religious freedom, if you believe like me. You have economic freedom, if you have money to pay the fine. You have the right to vote, if you are really really careful with it. You have the right to the best medical care - if you can pay for it. You have to right to free speech - if you know when to shut the hell up. As a black woman married to a white man - which was illegal in this state until this century, if you can believe it -- told me on the lawn of this very courthouse a month ago, men shouldn't be able to marry men and women shouldn't be able to marry women because ... It's the law. We are the Cradle of the Civil Rights Movement, and for that we can always be proud. But it is time to grow up." -- John Archibald for AL.com #Repost @adrianneinsta (@get_repost) ・・・ Ok sooooo Desperate Times call for Desperate Things!!! Alabama family and friends please go vote!!
