A/N: Isekai, Reverse Isekai, Fem Reader, Akaza
"What the heck?" You frowned as you looked around and saw that you were floating in the darkness. Everywhere you looked there was endless darkness. You figured out that you must have been sleeping, because how else would you explain this?
"What a nasty dream…" You grumbled when suddenly-!
"My child…" Came a voice and you yelped, looking around but not seeing anyone.
"What the-!?"
"Don't fear, for I'm not here to harm you." The voice called. You were so confused, unable to recognize if the voice you heard belonged to a man or woman.
"I'm no man or woman. Or maybe I'm both?" The voice hummed and you frowned, "Who or what the heck you are then?"
"I'm everything and nothing. I'm the start, the beginning, and the end, the conclusion."
"Well that's helpful…" You grumbled as you tried to force yourself to wake up from this bizarre dream.
"My child, I have blessed you with a task."
"Great great," You nodded, not listening as you looked around, reaching forward with your hands, blindly feeling your surroundings.
"Please listen to me when I speak." The being sounded serious and you sighed as you grossed your arms, "Okay, fine, I'll bite. What is my task?"
"I'm glad you asked."
There was a sudden flare of fire and you yelped out loud as you jumped back, trying to get away from the fire before it could burn you.
"Don't worry, my child. The flames of Hell won't harm you." The being said. You blinked as you saw what you thought was a man, curled in a fetal position in the middle of the flames.
"Your task is to help this sinner from another world to find themself again. Work their way to redemption as one would say."
"Wait, what!?" You were shocked, but the voice chuckled lightly, "It's time to wake up."
"Wha-!?" You sat up in a cold sweat and looked around you, seeing that it was just your room. No darkness, other than one offered by curtains. You were home, you were safe.
"What a wicked dream…" You grumbled as you threw your blanket aside and legs over the bed's edge, but as you were about to stand up, you felt your leg touch something.
"HIYAH!" The scream got caught in your throat as you jumped back on the bed and looked down… To see the man in your dream?
"What the actual fuck-!" You snapped, but the man groaned, appearing unconscious.
You frowned as you looked at him… And he was certainly different. Bright pink hair, tattoos all over his body… Almost naked with only a vest and white pants on…
Alright, there was a weirdo in your bedroom, where was your phone, it was time to call the cops-!
'He is your responsibility.' A voice echoed inside your head and you nearly yelped out loud. Had you gone completely mad!?
"Ugh…" The mystery man groaned and you squeaked in shock as you realized that he was waking up.
"Ah…" You panicked as you looked around and then back at the man, "Hey, uh… Just a warning, but don't kill me or something like that, okay…? I'm on your side, right?"
The man's eyes slowly opened and you were taken aback by how pretty they were or how luscious his eyelashes were. Damn, you were kinda jealous.
"Where…" The man rubbed his head as he sat up, "Where am I?"
"Uh…" You weren't sure what to say really, "You're in my bedroom?"
"What?" He looked up at you and suddenly bolted up, startling you, and then he looked around, "Where- Where is Muzan!? The Slayers!?"
"Ah, I have no idea who those are…?" You frowned and he looked at you, "Who are you?! What have you done to me!?"
"Whoa, I've done nothing!" You shook your head, "I don't know why, but for some reason, God or some other creature like that gave you as my responsibility!"
"I'm no one's responsibility!" The man snapped and you groaned, "I'm not happy about this either buddy! How do you think I feel to wake up with some random man on my bedroom floor!?"
"I'm Akaza and I'm not a man, but a Demon!" He shouted and you hissed at him as you jumped out of your bed, "Quiet! This is an apartment building and you will disturb my neighbors by shouting like that!"
"I don't care, I-!"
"Hold on, it's too fucking dark," You grunted as you reached for the curtains-!
"No, don't!" He shouted, but he was too late and you pulled the curtains aside, letting the bright sunshine on both of you.
"Ah-!" Akaza cried out as he raised his arms to protect himself… But nothing happened…?
"What's wrong?" You asked and the man blinked, stunned. The sun… It didn't burn him?
"What in the-?" Akaza was speechless and you were confused… You were about to ask when suddenly the silence was filled with the sound of your new companion's stomach growling like a fucking lion.
"Are you hungry?" You asked the obvious and the man frowned, feeling the hunger claw at his stomach… He would have to find food, a human, and soon or else-!
"I have some leftover stuff from yesterday in my fridge." You thought out loud as you walked around him and stepped out of your room to head to the kitchen.
"I- I can't-!" Akaza called after you, but you weren't listening. The man scowled and quickly followed you and he was taken aback by your apartment.
Everything was so different, what were all these devices and machines, or these unknown books on your shelves he couldn't recognize?
"Come here!" You called and Akaza came back to Earth and followed your voice to the kitchen.
"I have some waffles I made yesterday." You said as you stuck the plate full of waffles on the box that peeped and whirred to life.
While the waffles were in the microwave, you picked a chocolate spreading from the cupboard, "Do you want chocolate on them or not?"
"I…" Akaza was amazed, "I don't know…?"
"Chocolate it is then," You nodded as you pulled the warm waffles out of the microwave and placed them on the small table that connected your kitchen and living room area together.
"I- I can't eat this…"
"You haven't even tried," You shook your head as you grabbed the chocolate spreading and started to one by one smear it on each waffle, "You can't judge before you try."
Akaza frowned, knowing that if a Demon like him ate human food, he would get horribly sick… But as he watched the food before him, he felt hunger take over…!
Screw it, he can puke his guts out later!
Carefully, he picked a warm and sweet-smelling waffle and took a tentative nibble…
His eyes widened as he tasted the sweet chocolate and what was even more amazing was how he didn't feel sick! No, he felt amazing!
"D- Delicious!" Akaza gasped as he grabbed another waffle and started to stuff his face full of the treats.
You blinked as you watched him eat, but then smiled a little. He surely had an appetite. This man, Akaza, he ate like he hadn't had food in hundreds of years. It was kinda nice to have someone appreciate your cooking, even if they were only leftovers.
You kept spreading the chocolate on the waffles until you finally ran out of the said flat cakes. You watched in slight amusement as you watched Akaza lick his chocolate-covered fingers clean.
"Is…" He looked at you almost bashfully, "Is there more?"
"Mister, you just ate over 20 waffles!" You pouted, "How big is your stomach anyway?"
"I'm…" He frowned and you sighed, "It can't be helped. I have some eggs and such so I can make more if you want?"
"Y-!" Akaza swallowed as he nodded and looked at you with those big eyes of his, "Yes please…?"
"Alright, coming right up!" You nodded as you started to prepare the batter… And while you were baking you had time to chat with your new companion.
"In my dream, you were in Hell when I first saw you," You said as you put the batter to rest and rise in peace, "Care to explain?"
"I…" Akaza frowned, "What time and place is this?"
You told him and watched in confusion how his eyes widened and he cursed quietly.
"Is everything okay?" You frowned, a little worried and he shook his head as he glared at your table, "I shouldn't be here…! I should be dead!"
"Ah," You sighed, "If my dream was to be believed then you were in Hell."
"I…" He nodded, "That sounds right…"
"Care to share?" You asked… And Akaza shared. He told you everything, how he was originally from Japan, how he was a man-eating Demon, things he had done and hadn't done and how his last memory was dying…
You frowned as you listened to him tell you his story and finally, once he was done, your waffles were about done and you sighed as you started to again spread them with chocolate.
"Your life sounds super hard," You said sadly as you placed the plate full of waffles before him and grabbed one for yourself also.
"It was… It was awful…" He nodded as he started to eat again. You hummed around your mouthful, "Okay, so, if that 'thing' that made you my responsibility is to be believed, I should help you towards redemption?"
"I'm beyond that…" Akaza frowned through his full mouth, "There is no salvation for me…"
"Well…" You swallowed, "You don't appear like such a bad guy to me?"
"You have known me for an hour. What do you know?"
"Well, maybe I'll learn more since you are going to live here with me?" You said and he looked at you like you had grown another head, "What?"
"Well, obviously you can't make it out there with your lack of modern knowledge," You pointed out, "Your appearance might also catch some attention. I wouldn't feel good if I kicked you out on the streets."
"I'm not that weak!" He snapped suddenly, "I'm strong! I can take care of myself!"
"I don't doubt you, but you aren't in the Taisho era anymore, you're in the modern world where raw strength isn't that important!" You snapped back at him, not taking any bullshit.
"We can work out a plan together, but now we have to get you something proper to wear…" You chuckled, "And visit the grocery store also since you eat like a horse."
"Can… Can we get more of that chocolate stuff?" He asked and you nodded as you walked around him, "Even better, I'll buy you a whole chocolate bar."
"Where are you going?" He asked and you called over your shoulder, "I need to change my clothes and search for something for you to wear until we get you some clothes. Is this okay?"
"…Yes." He nodded, but you couldn't see it. While you were dressing and searching for clothes, he looked around your living room, observing the books and such.
Akaza was confused. How did you two understand each other and how he could read your language. Was this because of that being that made him your responsibility?
"Okay, these are my comfort clothes, but they should fit you," Came your voice, and Akaza turned and saw that you had dressed up and brushed your hair.
"Here you go," You handed him pants and a hoodie and the man nodded as he started to strip-!
"Whoa, wait until I'm out of the room!" You yelped as you quickly turned your back to him and rushed to the kitchen. The young man frowned as he changed his clothes and called out for you, "I've changed!"
"Good!" You called back before joining him and you nodded, "They look pretty good on you and hide your tattoos!"
"Thank you," He nodded and you handed him some sandals you found in your closet, "These will do until we find you proper shoes."
Akaza nodded as he accepted the shoes and you both headed to the entrance of your humble apartment.
As you were putting your shoes on, you happened to catch a glance of Akaza who was inspecting his new shoes, through the mirror on the wall and your eyes widened in shock.
"Akaza?"
"What?"
"You should take a look in the mirror," You said and the man scowled, not understanding what you meant, but then he stepped next to you and took a look-!
"It's…!" Akaza couldn't believe his eyes, "It's me…?"
"Huh?"
It was him, but not as Demon, but as the human man he once was. His eyes weren't yellow or marked with kanji, but they were bright blue like he had when he was still a human. His hair wasn't pink either, it was once again black.
He had some tattoos left, but those were from the time he was human and they weren't as prominent as the ones he had as Demon were.
"It's me, but… But when I was a human…?" He couldn't believe his eyes and you pondered what was different when an idea popped into your mind.
"Maybe you look normal?" You asked and quickly corrected yourself, "I mean, maybe you look like a human to the rest of the world, but to me, you look like the Demon that you were?"
"Only one way to find out…" Akaza frowned and the two of you headed out.
The modern world was amazing. The buildings, people, shops, food, everything was bigger or more impressive when compared to things at his time.
But what really caught your attention was how no one paid any mind to you two. They must have not seen Akaza as a Demon, but as a human, much like you assumed!
"Look!" You whispered, "No one is looking!"
"You're right…" He nodded, "It appears that you were right about how people see me."
"Hm, it makes shopping and your adaption to this world much easier."
"That is true." Akaza nodded thoughtfully and you smiled, trying to say something but the two of you passed your favorite hamburger place and your mostly empty tummy demanded food.
"Hey, it's lunchtime soon…" You hummed as you noticed how hungry you were, "Wanna grab some hamburgers?"
"What's a hamburger?"
"Oh, Akaza," You chuckled, "Like it or not, but you are going to enjoy this world."
M: "I meant Fukurokuju, of course! Excuse the confusion. His name is just too long, anyway."
D: "Maybe his name got longer with time just like his forehead."
Hey wasn't the point of Insans' name a way of not calling him insane because he doesn't like being called insane so that's why he's called Insans?
Insans calls him like this because he made the pun of himself being an insane Sans. He doesn't mind being called insane because he knows he is, but when he's more unstable he could yell at you for calling him that and the next second make fun of himself. Because, well, he's insane. ´﹏`)
