1) How important do you think stories are in society? Why?
Very very important. They're part of our own selves. But society needs to have a variety of stories, or we'd all think the same. Individuals with imagination are what society needs to grow and change, more so than hard logic.
2) What’s your favourite era in history?
Beginning 1900s. Old cinema and trains before the horrors of the Great War, the picnics, the ladies in big dresses and men in top hats painted by the impressionists.
3) How would you describe yourself in ten words?
sensitive, dependable, scrumptious (all right, I like that word), bouncy, paradoxical, yellow, caring, trustworthy, nervous, protective.
4) How is a raven like a writing desk?
I always thought it was because of the creaking noise a desk makes when it opens and closes its drawers, like a raven cawing. It could also be because of the ink wells that dyed the feathers black.
5) Would you rather be asleep right now?
No, but I found it hard to get up this morning. I dream better when I'm awake than when I'm asleep.
6) What is the most honourable thing you can do with your life?
Devoting yourself to those who need help as well as those you love without losing your integrity and imagination, and then dying humbly.
7) What are your favourite foods?
Cinnamon buns, spaghetti bolognaise with västerbotten cheese, swedish pankakor (better than sticky crepes or sugary american pancakes).
8) Who inspires you most? They don’t have to be famous.
Astrid Lindgren who wrote Pippi Longstocking, she made my childhood (Potter is a rather recent obssession for me). Her stories taught me to believe in my imagination and individuality and showed me loss and pain in love, which seems taboo in children's books. It shouldn't be. Childhood is glorified as a carefree golden period of innocence, when really for many misunderstood children, childhood is about growth, discovering and creating the world. As a very imaginative and crazy little girl, I always felt angry at adults who saw the world as a dull place you pay taxes in. I didn't want to grow up, just like Pippi. And now it makes me sad because this last year I'm becoming the practical person I never wanted to be. I try to inspire myself from her.
However, in real life, I'm mostly inspired by my aunt and french teacher. They're both classic ladies, but not snobs at all. They have this light sense of humour that comes a bit as a surprise but is very poised and refreshing. They both seem to accept the world and radiate a sort of wisdom that is unexplainable. Though I ignore everything of their lives, they look like they've seen a lot of the world, happy and sad. They have an aura from their eyes that's pearly turquoise (I'm a weirdo I know) and it is just so soothing. They are very deep women who can calmly tolerate the stupid people who surround them. I have the feeling they understand and know life personally.
9) Why did you join tumblr?
I kept checking the hufflepuff tag for a year then decided to join. I obviously needed Harry Potter but ended up loving the rest of tumblr fun.
10) What is your default outfit for a normal day?
jeans and yellow hoodie or purple long sleeve and brown cardigan. Red converse.
11) What’s your favourite musical ever?
I don't watch musicals, but I love AVPM!
I loved answering these questions...but I always write waaaayyyy too much!
