5.25.21 Lunchtime drawing: J. Baczynsky Meat Market on 2nd Avenue in the East Village reminds me of Easters with loads of smoked and fresh Polish sausage in Buffalo while growing up. It connects me to my Polish/Ukrainian roots, although I ask why this vegetarian is drawing a meat market! This sketch is dual purpose too, it’s informing the painting I’m working on in my studio, I needed to get some details of the interior through the storefront’s windows.
