Honestly, I love fanon Logan. But that's because I thought it wouldn't become canon. Those fanfics include non-canon scenarios and change canon scenarios for the fanfiction to work.
There's not enough in actual canon to give Logan a proper "not ignored, now dark" style arc. It can only be held up in fanon.
Canon Logan can be a bit of an asshole, but quite a few Logan stans either look away or distort it to make the character fit his fanon characterization.
Even though I love the character and reading fanfiction about it, the direction his arc is going is not healthy for anyone in the series.

i actually. don't really mind canon logan at all? I personally don't love fanon logan but i love the fact that people love his character enough to write fanfic and draw fanart. Like it's amazing that there's even a community to do that.
But the thing that is just. kind of annoying is that - like you said - fanon logan is NOT canon logan. The way he acts is canon is actually very different from the way fandom says he does yet many people try to say that their interpretation of him is canonical.
Like yes! He's a bit of an asshole! That makes him interesting (and literally all of the sides are kind of assholes sometimes..) and trying to make all his actions out to be completely justifiable is 1) just plain wrong and 2) annoying.
so yeah. I think fanon sides are really cool actually! But like...the way that fanon has been...idk like pushing more and more into the actual series is indicative of a problem with the writing i think
