" DON’T SAY THAT, REY, HONESTLY. “ she offers the young woman a sad smile that matches her dark eyes. she reaches out to tuck a lock of dark hair behind rey’s ear, a sweet MOTHERLY gesture on her own part. “ you shouldn’t be like any other person but yourself, you should try to be the best that you can be —— ELSE YOU’LL END UP DISAPPOINTED. “
Downpour
@jcdispirit
ben had been on her side of town when it suddenly started to downpour. the storm was sudden, taking over the city with its dreariness and claiming authority over everything else. very few were foolish enough to walk outside in the rain. ben was one of those few. stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jeans, he shuffled his way towards a familiar apartment he’d found himself visiting from time to time.
wondering if she was even home, he lifted his hand and rang the doorbell, followed by a gentle knock or two. patiently, he waited, though he held his head downwards in an effort to keep the rain from hitting his face. it didn’t matter, though, since the rain caused his hair to stick to his face, which led to water running down his face anyway. sighing, he turned around, figuring she must not have been home. he’d need to find another way to get shelter from the storm. it was fine, though. it wasn’t as if he expected her to answer. he just had a small hope that she would.
