*The Trump-era Iran deal is public, but only in the form of the 14‑point Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

**A JCPOA is a formal, binding international agreement with detailed technical obligations.

**An MOU is a non-binding political understanding that outlines “intentions”.

Israel has killed more than 400 Palestinians in the past few hours, after Donald Trump personally gave it the green light to restart the genocide in Gaza.

Before this, Israel violated the ceasefire hundreds of times. Now it tore it up, with support from its US imperial sponsor.

You can never, ever trust an agreement signed or brokered by the US government and its Israeli imperial outpost. The US signed the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA), then tore it up. The US brokered the "ceasefire" in Gaza, which Israel violated hundreds of times, and then tore it up.

Barack Obama says US is ‘worse off’ than before war with Iran

Former president nevertheless said in an interview that he was happy to see a ceasefire with Iran and hopes it holds

Barack Obama has said that after 15 weeks of war with Iran, the US is now “worse off” than before the conflict started in February. “We’ve now fought a war, spent billions and billions of dollars, you know, put enormous strain on our military. A lot of people have died. And it feels like we’re back where we were before we started the war, except maybe a little bit worse off,” the former US president told NBC News in an interview that aired on Friday. Obama, who spoke to the outlet before the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago today, offered remarks on the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran signed by Donald Trump in Paris earlier this week. “I am very happy to see a ceasefire,” Obama said. “And I’m hopeful that it holds.” Obama has been critical of the rationale for the conflict and questioned the first Trump administration’s decision to tear up the 2015 agreement with Iran that was negotiated by the Obama administration. Known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, that deal restricted Iran from obtaining or developing a nuclear weapon in exchange for lifting international economic sanctions. Obama said that under the JCPOA, “Iran had agreed not to develop nuclear weapons”, but noted that Trump then “pulled out of it, which caused then Iran to develop more nuclear capacity”.

The Obama JCPOA worked effectively, and Trump tore it up out of spite during his first term. The newly agreed upon MOU is a sham, however.

I've been saying this all along. "Oh Iran complied with JCPOA". NO THEY DID NOT they kept things looking Kosher at the sites that were publicly known about and kept working on nukes at secret sites that, even if the IAEA found out about, they would need to wait 24 days after requesting access until they would actually be able to access that site.

JCPOA was always ALWAYS a farce and only the tiniest bit of critical thinking is necessary to see why theocratic zealot despots hellbent on wiping certain countries off the map were always going to just continue working on nukes in secret.

And now we essentially know this as a fact.

And guess what? This is just the one secret site we know about.

I think secret nuclear sites are like cockroaches. If you found one, then there are an untold number hiding away still that you haven't seen.
