Neo needs to be in top shape in order to operate properly. It's why he's so insistent on reporting the bug he's discovered in his programing.
There's something wrong with him. He knows it.
Lexy isn't so sure.
merry christmas⊠i come to you with a CHRISTMAS PRESENT đđđđđ this was not meant to be a christmas upload but whatever we ball. your present is an android tweaking out for 8k words with my lore that i made the fuck up YAYYY!! i like this fic itâs silly hehe and i hope you like it too!! you can read it here!!
(Neo and Kapyy are brothers and now itâs your problem đ«”đ» lil fluffy drabble w/ the cyberfunk bros)
âHey! What can I get for ya?âÂ
Itâs uncomfortably cold, but thatâs not the cause of Neoâs gooseflesh. He knows heâs meant to say something, but he doesnât know what. The worker asks him a question, Neo gives them an answer, and the worker moves on. He can see it now-the workerâs features morphing into a slightly incredulous expression. Heâs taking too long.Â
The worker wants efficiency, and Neoâs not giving it to them.Â
Neoâs whole purpose is granting desires, and now his tongue feels frozen in his mouth and his thoughts are coming in strings of numbers instead of letters-they want something-an answer-and he canât give it to them. The too-sharp, too-bright world begins to take on a fuzzy, sickly green tint.Â
Heâs vaguely aware of his little brotherâs hand on his back, and twists slightly to tug Kapyyâs sleeve. Itâs as if Kapyyâs older, but Neoâs head aches if he contemplates that for too long. He tries not to. Tries.
âWhatâs up?âÂ
Kapyyâs smile is genuine, as if there isnât a line steadily forming behind them.Â
â01001001-donât know the answer.â
The hand on Neoâs back slides around his waist, squeezing just hard enough to keep Neoâs focus on the task at hand. The world is refined again, and the numbers shift back to their familiar letters.Â
âSo weâll figure it out!â
Kapyy points to a large container of the fluffy white crystals, clustered around matching containers with different colors. Oneâs a bubblegum pink, oneâs got rich brown swirls, oneâs tinted a darker blue-that might be of interest, but he still doesnât know the answer and it seems Kapyy does.
âThe plain whiteâs vanilla, but it kind of sucks. Chocolateâs marginally better-oh! You might like cookie dough. Or Oreo.âÂ
Kapyy turns his attention to the worker, whoâs watching the scene with a quiet, soft expression.Â
âCan we get a cone of the cookie dough, and a cone of the blueberry?âÂ
âSure thing, man.âÂ
They didnât have to pay-apparently Neo flustering a simple question was oddly touching-so they retreat outside with cargo in tow. The early evening sunshine bakes the streets in an orangey glow that he just has to stop and admire for a moment. Kapyy pats a bench outside the shop, and Neo sits next to him, albeit a bit stiff.
âI eat the container as well?âÂ
âMhm!â Kapyy nodded, happily chomping into his cone. With a tentative bite, Neo tried the ice cream.Â
It wasâŠ.fine.Â
He enjoyed the texture, but the flavor was a bit too saccharine for his taste. He took another small bite, hoping it was just a starting error. Kapyy had raved about the dessert, and he wanted to enjoy everything Kapyy did.Â
âYou like it?âÂ
At least he knew this answer.Â
âI do.â
âWanna try mine?â Kapyy held out a quickly melting blue cylinder.
Neo takes a tentative lick, then another before he can stop himself.
Oh.Â
Now he understands.
âSublime,â he murmurs.
âLetâs switch,â Kapyy grinned, leaning forward to take Neoâs cookie dough cone.Â
âI-are you certain? I can-â
âNeo.â Kapyy was firm, but not unkind. âI wouldnât have offered if I didnât want to.â
He took out half the top scoop in a single bite-apparently Neoâs little brother was part snake.
Neo watches him with a raised eyebrow as Kapyy chews for a few minutes.
âCookie doughâs actually my favorite!âÂ
Neo files it away under facts about his little brother, determined not to forget a single one. He doesnât know every answer for Kapyy yet, but it gives him a reason to keep asking.Â
They eat in a quiet peace for a few moments, their pants splashed with a kaleidoscope of droplets. Kapyy clears his throat, something between a cough and a sigh.
âIâm so glad youâre here, Neo.â
Chocolate stains Kapyyâs nose, and Neo tucks the mental image away. Itâs one of those things that makes him smile.
Looking at his little brother, Neoâs mouth simply moves.
