Black and Blue Salvia..Salvia guaranitica ...I was hesitant about planting this, even though @jdabneypeeplesdesign had said to...it just did not sound like it would look very pretty...often times just best to do what someone who knows says...I just was not crazy about the black and blue combination but now I wish I had more.. it has grown into a lovely lushness in the still ugly spot in my yard that I have spent gazillion hours and $$$ on.. that’s another story for another time because I have the solution but this Fall I’m going to add more of this gentle billowy , dependable bloomer. #deborahgibsondesign #jdabneypeeplesdesign #blackandbluesalvia #salviaguaranitica (at Greenville, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDjL-65jmb8/?igshid=19nq7vg0pphs4

Next project:... I ordered bamboo from @homedepot..picked it up yesterday afternoon...I’m going to make bamboo trellises for perennial Sweet Peas I’ll plant later in the Fall or early next Spring.. I’ve ordered 2 climbing roses, 1 has arrived from @heirloom_roses and 1 is coming at some point from @jacksonperkins ..1 for each raised bed and I’ll make some sort of bamboo trellis for them...there were LOTS of pieces of bamboo in the order so I’ll have plenty for this project...my dear friend and landscape designer extraordinaire, @jdabneypeeplesdesign was here this morning planning out a fountain for an area in my backyard and he gave me a terrific tip for an additional plant to grow on a trellis: mama at spinach... #deborahgibsondesign #jdabneypeeplesdesign #bambootrellis #climbingrose #cremedelacreme #colette #raisedbedsgarden #malabarspinach #fountain (at Greenville, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDCftQ3jYby/?igshid=fp9cyp8vo4fa

First photo is the before..next couple are the Anduze pots shipped and delivered waiting to be “done”... last few, all done, walkway washed off and I’m tickled pink and a wee bit tired...I only need 2 more items..demilunes to go on the wall on either side of the front door but I may never find them.... BUT!!!.. I’m finally happy with the front...thanks to a consult with @jdabneypeeplesdesign for several suggestions to finish this off...the small concrete planters , which are temporary..(I have some on order that arrive Aug 8), are filled with dreams sky blue and supertina blue skies Petunias ..the Salvia is Lyrical and I don’t even like purple but look at all the purple I have 😂😂😂😂😂 ...if any of you out there have demilunes let me know .... Several have asked about my garden tutors..this is my previous backyard I created with the help of @jdabneypeeplesdesign and @thecollinsgroup_tcg ..I bought the tuters and planters at an Interior Designer’s estate sale...they were both white..in my previous yard I had the planter box painted dark green and the tuters painted yellow (which I never liked)...I loved this backyard..while my back yard now is just okay, at the house we built across the street, nothing I attempt in my backyard now will EVER equal this...I worked so hard in this yard it was hard to give it up...the second photo was my chicken coop ..I do love my coop now better than the previous one but that yard!!!!...my oh my!!! #deborahgibsondesign #jdabneypeeplesdesign #thecollinsgroup #backyard #chickencoop #boxwoods #tuters (at Greenville, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_xGiNRDm4Q/?igshid=1webp278mo0o1

Before and After...thank you @j.dabneypeeplesdesign and @collinsgroup for our new yard!... your people worked incredibly hard in all this heat...I have been told that we have the ugliest house on the street...maybe she needs to ride by again..although it really does not matter if anyone likes it ..we are completely happy and the hard work by the above people is certainly the icing on the cake! #deborahgibsondesign #jdabneypeeplesdesign #collinsgroup #newlandscaping #hardwork
