Marker drawing of Shelby; trying to post more on my blog, but like all my social accounts, I forget it exists and it’s dying....
also because I’m playing breadth of the wild, and am in chronic illness hell....

During the revolution, Shelby son of the wealth deity Akar, was upon the throne of Ven’itereea. But the Pek Nee’ei didn’t want monarchys or religion anymore; or at least they thought they didn’t. In reality, the Shjua’sivil counsel, including Shelby, was keeping Molamola in a sublime state of homeostasis; maintaining the whole afterlife happy. Without Masters of the land like Shelby, or his father Akar, Molamola would succumb to despair. Yet, blinded by propaganda, the Pek Nee’ei forgot this, and Shelby, with his newborn son, became an easy way to snuff out a king, pull a profit from his precious metal antlers and pelt, as well as torture a god. Shelby was reaped by the highest bidder, in front of his helpless father, orphaning his son and country.
Once the revolution had ended, the beings of Molamola realized they still needed some form of Shjua’sivil. Shelby’s son, Meiz, was made ras of Ven’itereea, and Akar was released from his imprisonment, to restore equality of luck and wealth. But both Meiz and Akar still mourned Shelby, haunted by his brutal death.
Tiered of standing by, in the face of suffering, the deity of time, Septsus, decided to pull Shellby to the present, from the moment before he died. Though there was no change to peoples memories or fates, Shelby's family was not the same. They were colder, fearful, and mistrusting.
Desperate for his father’s protection, and Akar desperate to protect his children , became reliant on each other. Akar saw his children, inspite of different mothers, worth more then any treasure in his trove. Watching one die was one of his most painful memories, that made him eat at himself each day. To Akar’s joy Shelby became a monk, never daring to leave his fathers warded temple. He was scared of people hurting him again if he ever left. Akar, scared to let his son go, watched Shelby become corrupt by his devious aura. Slowly, Akar realized that Shelby should not be a prisoner, and will one day need to leave.
Akar had to work on his centuries of trauma, bring balance to the realm, and had trouble letting Shelby go. When Akar was gone one day, Shelby felt cold, and finally yearned to leave his fathers luxurious keep. As fearful as he was, Shelby became curious of the new Molamola. He went to find his five brothers, and two sisters; and maybe his son. But all seemed to turn him away for their own interesting lives. Each reunion seemed shallow, if also loving. No matter the joy present, Shelby remembered being chased before his murder. Shelby was trapped in a temple now, by his own accord. As an anachronism, unable to reconnect with the changed world.
When Shelby returned to the ancestral grounds, on one brave outing. He found his eldest sister there. Ser’ha is the lesser known of the Akar’s children; For the Midas touch made her little but a fruit picker, making jams and wine. She was the only one happy to have Shelby by her side, and gossip about the world in his absence. The luck and wealth their father bestowed upon her, was used to make aa quiet life. She was untainted and sweet. lovingly tending the valley. She told Shelby to come back whenever he liked, and she’d always offer him a safe and loving place to stay; She didn’t get many visitors after all.
Shelby stayed and helped Ser’ha’s orchard for three days, before he returned to his father’s embrace. He was still scared to leave, and still a piece of treasure in a god’s hoard of gold. But now, he was open to leaving and seeing his family. Knowing he had a home with his father to run to, and family beyond the trove to love him, was comforting for the both of them.
