Sam tugged on the leashes in his hands, a sign for his dogs to slow down; it was Monday morning, two hours before most people would even consider getting out of bed. Yet here he was, taking on the day already, slowly reaching the huge park; it was maybe a five-minute walk away from his apartment. Letting his greyhounds off, he let them run around, occasionally throwing the balls he brought with him to play catch.
There wasn’t any people around, barely any, actually, so at the first sight of someone knew Sam’s dogs had to get distracted. “Val.” He called after one of them, hoping to spare the passer-by a good-natured attack from his dog. “Sorry, she always gets a bit too excited whenever people other than me are involved.”
