Filmed for a BBC television special entitled An Evening with Marlene Dietrich on November 23rd and 24th 1972, Marlene turned 71 the following month on December 27th. Miss Dietrich's "skin and beads" gown was designed by Jean Louis, a long-time collaborator who'd been creating the revealing costumes for Marlene's stage and cabaret act since the early-1950s.
Head designer for Columbia Pictures, Jean Louis, presents Rita Hayworth with two hats he brought back for her from Paris in 1946. Rita will wear the hats in her latest picture, Alexander Hall’s DOWN TO EARTH.
