Just saying, I feel like Jecht would be the type of dad to do this.
Actually, he would name him Jecht IV now that I think about it...

What happens as you reach Dock Number 4 is a series of battles against some salvaged Machina. Even when you kill a row, a second row runs in seamlessly to try and evoke the feeling that there is an endless stream. Tidus asks why in the most eloquent and beautiful way. Wee special battle features like this are nice (albeit a little frustrating when you don't know how many of these guys you're going to have to take down) - it kind of spices up the gameplay a bit.
I love that this guy (Tobli?) is disappointed that everyone went to the opening ceremony... when earlier he was selling tickets to it, lmao. Also, look, the only canon instance where the Tuna ship sinks.
Looks like Yuna's already learned to whistle. And she was using it to call out for Tidus. It's almost sad that he didn't hear it. Still, he already gets to step up and fulfill his promise to her.
Tidus is adamant that he's coming. Look at his body language when he says he's going, he won't take no for an answer. There's no objection this time from Kimarhi or Lulu - both of whom have been so far pretty cold to Tidus. Either they've started to warm up to him, or they're far too paniced to get into a debate (or, I guess, they know Tidus will just tag along regardless of what they say.) Tidus brings up an interesting point. It's unlikely that the Al Bhed kidnappers really are just Blitz Ballers. I don't think they've give Yuna back even if Wakka had lost the game - they're more likely Cid's recruits. A little bit of foreshadowing, I suppose. I do wonder how Lulu knew Yuna would be on the Al Bhed boat, it seems unlikely it would be in the ransom message - unless there were witnesses, I suppose that's possible. Still, maybe she has a sixth-Yuna-finding-sense. It would befit her.
Interesting that "where in Spira" must be in common use, ie; the equivalent of "where on earth." Man, they got the message in pretty fucking fast about Yuna's kidnapping, though - either that, or Kimarhi and Biran where punching it up for quite a while. Tidus in the last gif looks like he's going to be sick. Sick with RAGE.
Biran's still up for the count, and manages to slip in another sucker punch while Kimarhi's distracted. You can only imagine how utterly shit Kimarhi must feel in this moment. He's let his guard down to his childhood bullies, only to lose the only thing that's actually important to him. He immediately abandons the fight, placing duty high above retribution. Biran then stands all sassy like and Tidus stares vacantly into the distance, checking out those hot cat-abs.
dame-mjrn replied to your photoset: Biran and Yenke are dicks, but this scene reflects...
He subconciously disliked Tidus because it reminded him of his past failures. Too bad I didn’t realize that until now. Makes later scenes between them that much more “awesome,” for lack of a better phrase.

AHH Yes exactly! Kimarhi doesn't get much to his characterization, so this is the highlight of his personality, to me. Still, it's a really nice little detail to come to realize.
