I’m so out of touch with SP fandom lately that some of the meta’s on your blog reference discourse/opinions about the show I didn’t even know people held 😂 Your blog is cool, glad I ran into it though I’m now so concerned for how some fans read the show lolol

It’s honestly such a small minority of the fandom, I’ve only seen like two or three people with very weird takes on Tumblr itself- actually I see more of them on Instagram, as well as the mainstream fans who don’t really look past a surface level view of the show and characters. Apparently it’s pretty common on Twitter from what I’ve heard but I can’t really speak for that because I don’t use it haha.

Tumblr is the only site that you can really get all that deep into character analysis without having to take shortcuts in how you explain things so I think it makes sense that generally, people tend to have better, more developed takes in meta here. It’s kind of the whole problem that comes with how much people tend to essentialize things on Twitter and details in narratives get lost- and I think the same tends to happen on Instagram for similar reasons in how the website/app is formatted.

Even then though, I think the majority of the fandom is pretty tame and doesn’t believe anything too crazy, and considering how inconsistently the show is sometimes written or how open ended some stories are, it makes sense people would come to other conclusions that sometimes seem way less sensible, but I think most of those people are probably very chill as well even if their view on the characters seems super warped.

But anyway, I’m really glad you enjoy my blog dude!! It’s cool seeing people actually enjoy what I have to say, and I highly appreciate the support ^-^

Hello! This blog is amazing, first of all! Second, I’m looking for a fic in which Draco is an unspeakable and goes undercover with a sort of cult that is syphoning people’s magic. He finds Harry there, who has been missing for some time. Harry has become partially transparent, as many people have, and saving him takes entering into his mind. It’s sort of a trippy, colorful fic that dives into magical theory. I read it really late at night last winter so some of the details are a little foggy to me now. If you can find it I’d be very grateful! I know I first found it from a reclist but I couldn’t find that list again. 💜

Mm. I’m willing to concede that Dabi being full of prejudice is my reading, my interpretation, and that other people won’t agree. I’d debate the disagreement because i’m stubborn 🤡, but ultimately I get it’s my take, and maybe i can be totally wrong lol

Without his wings, the Commission didn’t need Hawks. They took care of his hospital bills, saw that his burns were treated well, formally retired the Number 2 hero (Hawks hated paperwork), and sent him home in a taxi. After all, he wasn’t flying back to his apartment.

He stumbled back into his apartment in a daze. He hadn’t been home in so long--he’d been in the hospital for days, and staying with the Paranormal Liberation Front before that. He’d left his place messy, which only further demoralized him. He noticed a trail of ants going back and forth from a moldy pizza. Great, he thought.

Rather than deal with it, he walked listlessly into his bedroom and collapsed on his bed. He missed having his own bed, his own blankets and pillows and his own Endeavor plushie from when he was a kid. But now, that stupid childish love of Endeavor made Hawks feel sick.

Touya Todoroki.

He shoved the plush under his pillows, trying not to think about any of it. About the High End attack, about Dabi revealing his identity to him, his memories of Touya when they were children.

Damn. He had to stop thinking about all this.

Hawks wrapped himself up in his blankets--not dissimilar from how he used to wrap his wings around himself from comfort--and tried to change his train of thought.

He couldn’t do hero work anymore, not without his wings. So what would he do now--get a normal job? Nearly his whole life, Hawks had been raised to be a hero. That had been his only purpose. The Commission took his name from him, made him into Hawks and Hawks only. He had never considered what other job he could do. Hell, he wasn’t sure he even had the skills or education for a different line of work. All he knew was how to be a hero.

He was listless for weeks. At first, the news was all the major parts of the battle: Shigaraki’s defeat, The hero Deku emerging as a beacon of hope, Endeavour failing where near students succeeded. During this time, some heroes he had worked with tried calling him or sending small tokens like flowers or casseroles, giving him their best. “I’m so sorry about your wings—Dabi is truly evil.” “You were one of my favorite heroes!” “Get well soon! I’m sure they will grow back!”

Burned cells, that badly burned cells, seldom grow back. And missing wings were sure to be maimed forever, of that, Hawks was sure.

The doctors told him to put ointments, burn creams, on the wounds regularly. Hawks could reach his face, of course, and the weaker burns on his arms, too, but reaching his back was difficult. Try as he might, he would never reach the areas most affected. Dabi really has it out for him, didn’t he? No, not Dabi. Touya. Hawks remembered Touya Todoroki. Back before Hawks was Hawks, when he was young and he was still Keigo Takami, he’d met Endeavor’s oldest child. Not through any normal means, but Keigo’s father had done something—a crime—Keigo was young and didn’t know why his father had fought the Number 2 hero, but it happened. He’d been hurt, Hawks remembered, and Endeavor had left him in the hero’s own home while he went to sort things out. Touya had played with Keigo, comforted him as he tried to process what had happened. He didn’t understand much, but he knew Endeavor had saved him. Looking back now, Hawks wished his child-self had looked harder. What was wrong? What made young Touya become Dabi?
