Imagine Karen very consciously and obviously sabotaging Frank’s mission because she knows he’ll die if he does whatever he’s doing. Maybe she knocks into his gun so he doesn’t kill his target.

And he’s pacing and angry and getting in her face and yelling “I’M GONNA DO THIS AND I’M GONNA ACCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES! I TOLD YOU THAT! SO WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING??”

And she grips the edges of his open jacket with shaky fingertips and says in a broken, halting, tear-choked voice:

“Holding on with both hands.”

And we see that moment of realization on his face before all hell breaks loose.
