Jef Neve, the classically trained Belgian jazz pianist and occasional film composer, has published a collector’s item. Only 125 CDs/LPs of his “Organ Symphony” (2026) were printed!

It’s a “sui generis” composition where an organ is complemented not by a full orchestra but by a chamber music ensemble that includes the typical instruments from the jazz world.

Jef kindly signed my copy but I do object to having received the CD numbered 13. Couldn’t I get number 12 or 14 instead? Faced with potential bad luck, I’ll have to watch out for black cats and avoid ladders for at least a month…

The young Belgian jazz musician-film composer Jef Neve has written the best music that commemorates the war.

He wrote it as the soundtrack for the TV series "In Flanders Fields".
