When Jeff finally got to Rhett, he was actually surprised at just how willing to go with him the mutt was. It really should have been his first clue that something was off about him. But, he didn’t think much of it when Rhett asked if he could be the one to kill his handler.

Gwen’s full name is Gwen Maxine Stacy Morgan. Jeff did not understand why she needed two middle names, but Ollie insisted. Jeff still, to this day, does not get the reference.

The decision to change Gwen and Tucker’s names wasn’t in order to protect or hide them. Jeff just did not like the names Carrie and Carson.

Jeff was originally in med school. He had intended to be a surgeon before he got too out of hand. He had thought that being around the blood and fixing people would curb his impulses for violence, but it didn’t help. He eventually dropped out and then shit got really bad between him and Ollie.

Their emotional/moral weak spots

When he’s in a normal head space, it’s what he does when he’s in a near mental black out. The first few times it happened, he had no memory of what he had done at all. Now it’s all just hazy, like a bad nightmare when he comes to. But, pointing out what he’s doing in those states makes him break down because he honestly hates himself for it. 

Fears/phobias

He’s terrified of becoming Chance and he fights it as much as he personally can.

Dark secrets/’skeletons in the closet

He was 15 the first time he saw someone die. They were drowning and instead of getting help, he just watched.

Regrets

Everything he puts Ollie through. He doesn’t regret it as much as he should, but he regrets it as much as he’s actually capable of.

Things they’ll never admit

That things would be easier if he just gave into his nature. He’s afraid that if he admits it, he’ll give in and it won’t be pretty.

People they’ve hurt or indirectly killed, and how it affected them

For weeks after he watched someone drown, he was conflicted about it. On one hand, there was the deep set guilt that he should have done something, anything to help. On the other, it excited (in more ways than one) him to watch them struggle to stay above the water. It is what initially pushed him to get into med school though, even if he barely goes to class anymore.

what seemingly insignificant memories stuck with your character?

The first time he saw his father covered in blood and watching how his mom didn’t seem even remotely freaked out as she helped get him cleaned up. He had seen his grandparents do something very similar and it just sort of struck him as odd when he realized that that wasn’t something all families did.

does your character work so they can support their hobbies or use their hobbies as a way of filling up the time they aren’t working?

He’s actually still in school, debating on whether or not to become a surgeon or drop out and pick up a different set of skills. He’s honestly fighting his own impulses here

how does your character feel about sex?

He hasn’t really found anyone he enjoyed being with but that might be more from holding back because he has a habit of sleeping with mortals.

what are your character’s major flaws?

He has disassociation episodes that are very hard from him to pull himself back from.
