Tell me about Alain! Or any of your other OCs really
Aaah oh gosh ok
Well basically he’s half my self-insert and half the main character of this very silly story i’ve been planning on writing/drawing (if I ever get good enough at either to want to show people).
Alain went away to study at a big fancy magic school for big fancy magic types, located verrrrry far away from home, but he kind of coasted along on his talent and spent more time goofing around than actually studying. He’s currently at the point of his education where he’s supposed to apprentice himself to a mage to learn before pursuing higher learning of his choice, like a magical internship/research fellowship before magical grad school.
Buuuuut he’s lazy, so he’s been working at a small time jewelry enchanters for a while now, just trying to overcome crippling self-doubt and anxiety long enough to actually apply himself enough to go do something meaningful. In the meantime he spends his days working and getting drunk in the nearby tavern with his pals.
His most prized possession is his coat, which was a gift from his family. The school he went to is in the middle of the desert, and being from the far north he is not suited to that climate. His family chipped in and got him an enchanted coat of resist elements, which basically allows him to exist comfortably in any temperature. Unfortunately, the only garment of the kind where his home was is a heavy winter coat, so despite being perfectly comfortable everyone assumes he’s going to die of heat stroke if he so much as steps outside. He fields questions about it at least once a week.
And that’s roughly where he is when the plot begins, which will involve conspiracy, kidnapping and daaaaark secrets. Or it will if I ever get around to writing/drawing the damn thing instead of just thinking about how cool it would be to do.
