Emergence
Look at your left-hand, what do you see? Do you see a single part of the body or a fabric layer of skin cells that cover billions of different types of other cells that lay beneath? Can you feel the blood going through your veins there? Or the sensory nerves at the tips of your fingers, how many touches have they felt? Can you remember some of them? Have you ever thought about the movement that you just did? Raising up your hand in front of your face, to look at it with your own eyes? Do you know it requires a lot to do that - dozens of major muscles, let alone the rotating ones that make your arm rotate or the tendons and bones that make the amazing movement of your fingers possible to grasp the things that are not made for the hand! Have you ever thought about "How come you knew where to look at it and found your hand so easily?" I mean, that requires a lot too, for the movement of your eyes isn't that simple as it seems! Or, ever thought about the big cooperation between your hand, eyes, and brain in this simple context? Who is the master here?
Did my hand just gave orders to my brain and eyes and they followed my hand, or it was the other way around? So again, who is master here? Who runs this body? Is it the brain, heart, another organ, or something yet to be discovered? Can you shift the control between all these three? Who is controlling you and your thoughts? Whenever I dive into such thoughts, the big question starts, which is "How come little stupid things combine together to make a smarter big thing?" I mean, if there’s no such a thing “master of the body” even physiologically and microscopically; there’s no such a thing as “UNITED BRAIN KINGDOM” each neuron works by itself, they are not smart, they don’t even know how to generate an action without external stimuli! Then why when billions of these neurons come together, they make a smart organ - let’s call it “Brain”! Yet, the brain cannot be too smart to dominate other organs! Still, sometimes; other organs control the brain! And they work together without knowing it... or even worrying about who is the boss! It feels like order through chaos!Guess it's not that clear yet, well; Biology has always been my favorite class, so let's explain it in a biological way this time. The cell is defined as - the basic unit of life, because life starts here, let's dig deeper first, even though a cell is defined as a living entity, it’s composed of a number of smaller structures called organelles - which are not alive; together they cooperate to this little thing that we call it "The beginning of the life” ... so life has emerged from non-living things! Hope you still have the image... let's get back to the cell and bigger; on the individual basis and within a multi-cellular organism "one cell" could totally be useless, so because of that our DNA has learned to differentiate different types of the cells for different functions, so they specialize and some of them become responsible to protect you against external environment from foreign invaders, some are working to protect you from internal enemies; while there are some cells that work for other cells and so on... yet you'll never see any cell that will work all alone by itself; they are working in groups and together they make a single tissue then a group of tissue works together to make an organ... remember to keep this in mind that it's never about making it alone! It's about making it together! So, one type of tissue is useless to make an organ, one organ is useless to make a system and one system will never make a complete organism! Then individuals make societies and so on... It has always been about the COOPERATION. But unfortunately, we tend to forget that very often! I want it all just for myself, and you want it all just for yourself - while there's plenty out there for me, you, and the rest. Take a look at the sky, and remember my words... if the sun or moon wanted all the sky for themselves; there would be too much of a conflict and they would kill us all, but luckily they don’t want that! The sun gives us days without knowing it, the moon enlightens our nights without even thinking about it! Yet both of them are in a non-stop movement, swimming in a vacuum besides hundreds of thousands of other stars and galaxies! Who knows, maybe they are all some organelles to something much bigger, and we’re the atoms in there!
So the answer to the above questions can be really simple, in our universe, everything is balanced, conflict and cooperation exist at the same time, there’s always order through chaos and chaos within order. Good and evil are working together, without light we wouldn’t know what darkness feels like. Life implies death - or shall we say; death implies life! In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang (陰陽 yīnyáng, lit. "dark-bright", "negative-positive") describe how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. That’s why there must be a task for you to achieve because nothing is here just to be here!
