No no wait! It's not another Octarian!! It isn't even an Inkling or an Octoling!!! This...

...Is Jelani, Rose's jellyfish interpreter! (It/its pronouns only)

Like Jelonzo, Jelfonzo and Jel la Fleur, it has taught itself to speak with Inklings and Octolings. To develop it's language studies, it also learned Squid Sign Language (SSL), and eventually decided to become an interpreter. It's tentacles can split into three, which makes it easier to sign!

Jelani gets on really well with Rose, and is probably her closest friend. They've known each other for a long time, and Pearl and Callie continuously hire it because they know that their daughter feels comfortable around it.

I'm kinda obsessed with it's design rn so hopefully I'll draw it more soon :3
