Batfam x Neglected reader

The bats find out reader is getting married mid-interview on a gossip TV show that Bruce had to attend to keep his image up. The rest of the Batfam are watching in the manor, excited to see how Bruce is going to act using his Brucie persona. The kids are cracking up through the interview, already planning to use some clips as blackmail, but towards the end of the interview, the host thanks Bruce for attending. Saying something along the lines of "Hey, thanks for coming. I know it was last-minute, and you and your family are probably going to get on a plane immediately after the interview."

The bats are confused! Bruce is confused! Are they scheduled for something? Bruce hides his confusion well enough till the host sends his congratulations to the youngest Wayne for their wedding tomorrow. For the first time, Bruce slips. What!? before covering it up, but the host smells blood in the water and immediately starts asking questions. Bruce dodges the question invading trying to play dumb, but his mistake was noticed.

The Wayne Manor is left speechless for a moment till Tim and Babs are on their tablets immediately tracking reader and finding posts on social media and gossip articles. Asking themselves how nobody noticed reader was missing.

Dick and Jason are confused and mad. Their little sibling is too young to be married. In their minds reader is like 14 or 15, entering high school, they are far too young to be married! Until Damien reminds them that reader is younger by two years and he's graduating from college next year. Dick and Jason wave Damien off, too busy going into protective older brother mode.

Bruce is spiraling as he leaves the interview his PR is handling his slip-up as the internet starts asking questions and speculating that the Waynes weren't even invited to the wedding. Suddenly, everyone is pointing out the lack of photos and the presence that reader has in Batfam life.

Bruce has no idea where his kid is. He has no idea how old they are. What do they look like? Who is marrying his kid? Are they a good person? Which family do they belong to? Who's walking them down the aisle?He hasn't even had a full background check on them yet.

While the Batfam is spiraling. Elsewhere, somewhere in Greece reader is living their best life. They're marrying the love of their life. They're surrounded by all their friends and everyone important to them. Intending to dance the night away.

As the bats fly towards Greece, some intend to crash the wedding, while some intend to put a stop to it. Once they get closer to the island, they see people climbing up the side of a cliff while a party is going on in full swing. Thinking reader is going to get attacked, they go into attack mode, which leads them to stand in front of a fuming reader while their significant other is being tended to by Alfred.

I'd love to read a fic where reader just crashes out. They're completely enraged to the point that they kill the Joker. No regrets, the Joker fucked around, and he finally found out.

Batfam X Neglected Reader

The mistake that Bruce ignores. The sibling nobody claims in the manor. In Gotham, they might as well be ghost. Nobody acknowledges them, not the press, not the family. They tried being a god kid, having straight A's, and controlling their anger issues, but nothing worked. Rebelling sure didn't help. Bruce would just send Alfred to deal with them when they got in trouble or started fights. They thought Dick had anger issues. No reader was worse in their teen years.

Until they met their best friend. They were still angry, but having someone care for them, they were convinced to attend therapy and receive help. Having a friend helped a lot, spending time with their family, and actually receiving attention and love. Reader no longer reached out to the Waynes, so they stopped asking for attention. Anything they do, the batfam just looks at them in disappointment anyway, so once they graduate, they're out.

In college, their best friend gets killed by the Joker. They were walking home from work when Joker grabbed them. Best friends' crazy ex was stalking them, and after getting out of an abusive and toxic relationship, they moved in with reader. They tried to get the police involved, but the police informed them they couldn't do anything without evidence. Seeing their best friend, someone who they considered family, break down, they swallowed their pride and returned to Wayne Manor to ask for help, but they wouldn't help Bruce was too busy with a case, and most of the Batkids were off-world or in another city to busy to answer their phone.

One night, after reader's best friend got off work, they caught sight of their ex and took a different route back to the apartment. Terrified, they tried to call reader, their hands shaking, but it was too late. Looking up after hearing a car screech, they saw a clown a couple of feet away looking at them with an eerie smile.

The last thing reader hears of their friend when the call connects are the screams and Joker's laugh. The body is practically unidentifiable, beating to the point you can't tell who it is. When the coroner asks their family to identify the body, they can't bring themselves to do it, reader volunteers to identify the body.

Grieving their best friend, their sibling. They drink themselves blind and throw themselves into work. While getting drunk at a shady bar, they hear that the last time the Joker broke out, Batman let Joker get away. The men grumble how the Bat will probably let him go again, since he recently broke out of Arkham.

Filled with rage, reader starts hunting. Joker wouldn't go out with a bang; he won't get to have one of the bats kill him, staining their hands with his blood. No, he was going to get a ghost, a regular citizen, a nobody, because if Bruce won't kill it, then they would.

I blame my friends for all the Horror prompts that keep popping up in my head at 2am. This isn’t one of them kind of, but it’s hard to sleep when you’re mind won’t shut up about psychological horror and thinking about how to write a thriller.*sigh*

Batfam x Neglected Reader

Human emotions are complex. Reading a person and trying to imitate their emotions and how they’re expressed is interesting. When to tilt your head. Knowing the right time to shift your eyes or accentuate your words to express an emotion is something that should come naturally. It’s human, of course; there are exceptions, but unconsciously, we all show some sort of emotion. So how about this?

Uncanny reader who unsettles the Batfam. All answers seemed practiced and measured. On paper, they’re perfect to perfect. Private schools, Ivy League university in Europe. Not loved but just there in the public eye. Pleasant to know, but unsettling if you stay long around. A few friends, or more like acquaintances if you ask anyone. They have basic-level information, but nothing private. A boring career in an office belonging to Wayne Enterprises.

Bruce blames himself, being uncomfortable around his child thinking it’s trauma of when they were a toddler. He pushed them away, yelling that he never wanted them. He has no excuse, he knows what he did was wrong. The days after he tried to apologize, but seeing his child tense in fear made him freeze and keep his distance. Ridden with guilt he begins to ignore them. Welcoming them back into the manor years later, once they're an adult, coming home from college and accepting a job at WE. Something doesn't feel right, but still feeling guilty, he chalks it up to paranoia.

Damian is frustrated that any insult thrown at them is met by a blank stare and a measured response. Nothing he says to his younger sibling affects them and it irks him but really, he always feels the hairs in the back of his neck raise when his younger sibling is near. It reminds him of the soldiers who just came out of the Lazarus pit. Empty.

Cass hates family dinners when reader attends, everyone feels uncomfortable. She can’t read reader's body language, they’re too still. To performative. To fake.

Dick tries his best to make conversation with them, but when he makes eye contact, he has an urge to flee or attack. All he knows is that it's not his sibling, but he can't prove it.

Jason and Tim watch reader like they’re a threat anytime reader gets to close Jason unconsciously places himself in front of his family. Tim at one point believes they might be a mimic he remembers his younger sibling the warmth in their eyes the little footsteps of them following their older siblings like a duckling but now something feels wrong.

Duke and Steph tend to make themselves scarce when reader is around anything to not be in the room with them. They’ve tried, but Steph starts feeling anxious, and Duke feels unsettled after the theory Tim brought to him that reader might not be their real sibling. They watched them before following them for a week. Duke remembers how they would just walk into a room and stand in their apartment not blinking, just staring at the wall.

The whole family has a gut feeling that something is wrong, but it's not said out loud any mentioned of it and Bruce shuts it down, refusing to entertain the idea.

Reader knew their place in the family, they knew they weren’t loved. After the night that Bruce yelled at them reader knew where they belonged. Being in foster care before being taken to Bruce, they feared the repercussions of being abandoned again so they stopped. They stopped following, attempted to stop feeling, but seeing the happy family, the tender moments felt like a stab in the heart.

So they stepped back, being burned more than once by people they trusted who were only interested in the Wayne name. They learn to ignore the urge of human connection, the wanting to belong, and created instead.

A gala being attacked while the Batfam was attending was nothing new. They knew their places and what to do. Protect citizens and neutralize the threat. Some sneaking away to change into their vigilante persona. Bruce saving one of his kids from an attack left him open. A scream from a guest and a thud is all he hears before turning around and seeing readers body falling off a balcony with no head attached.

Yelling and crying bodies rushing towards the exit as the Batfam try to fight to reach their sibling. Bruce is desperate, thinking he failed another child. The rest of the bats are pushed back by panicked people trying to escape, because as much as reader unsettles them, they still remember the toddler that would follow them around.

Rushing and expecting a bloody corpse, some are left stunned, while others are too filled with panic to realize the blood oozing out of the body isn't blood, it's the wrong shade they've all been around blood enough to recognize it shouldn't be a thick black liquid. Tim, for a moment, feels validation, thinking it was something supernatural until he notices the wires sticking out from the discarded head a couple of feet away.

I unfortunately don’t have the talent to write and create stories but I do have ideas. So for all the lovely authors I propose.

Batfam X Neglected Reader ( Squid Games)

Readers mom was engaged or married to Bruce, but one day runs away with a good amount of money with another man and leaves reader behind.

The whole family feels the betrayal and the hatred is directed to reader.

After years of neglect and emotional abuse reader turns 18 maybe they’re kicked out or leave.

Bruce offers no financial support.

The Court of Owls the elite of Gotham run their own version of Squid Games. Wanting entertainment theirs no shortage of people who need money in Gotham.

The Bats have heard rumors of the game’s. Needing evidence Bruce or/& Tim are able to infiltrate and get invited to watch the games. Imagine the horror of seeing readers being one of the players. Oracle is able to hack into the feed and now the Bats are trying to find the location where the games are being held. They have to watch their forgotten family member try to survive.

Maybe readers reason for joining the games is because they’re in debt or have a kid in the hospital who needs urgent surgery soon. They go to Bruce for help, asking for money, but they’re turned away, told they’re just like their mother.

My Greek mythology obsession is back. It walked right up to me and knocked me out as soon as I started listening to Epic The Musical. (I so recommend listening to it if you haven’t; I can’t tell you how good it is.)

Batfam X Neglected Reader ( Tiresias ) Pt.2

Reader is the product of a one night stand when Bruce was in college but isn’t left in the Wayne’s care till after Bruce adopts Dick.

Reader is born with Cataracts [ Cataracts are a common age-related eye condition where the eye's natural lens becomes cloudy, causing blurred or faded vision. This clouding is often caused by the breakdown of proteins and fibers within the lens. While not a severe condition in its early stages, untreated cataracts can lead to blindness.]

As their vision starts deteriorating, their gift from ( Zeus or Athena, depending on which story you’re going by) starts returning, maybe it starts out small, like predicting what their friend is getting for their birthday when the friend mentions their parents have a surprise for them.

Readers vision gets progressively worse as their gift of prophecy gets stronger. Teachers start asking questions when it's obvious reader hasn't been to the doctor. Bruce is to busy training and mentoring Dick, Barb and Jason that the readers needs are being pushed to the side. It comes to a head when Jason is leaving to look for his mother reader has a prophecy of betrayal and death. Reader begs Jason not to go telling them about the prophecy. Angry Jason pushes them away, leaving them as the reader's pupils fully become milky grey, almost white, left sobbing in the manor.

Bruce is now dealing with a missing child and CPS knocking at his door when reader returns to school blind, and the teachers have proof of neglect.

As more tragedies fall on the Batfam even if they're warned by reader ( Bruce doesn't know about the prophecies till after reader is taken) but the rest of the bat kids start blaming reader.

To the public, the Waynes are a perfect family. Bruce acts as an attentive father in public, especially during galas. During a gala, maybe one of the villains (Lex Luthor, Penguin, Two-Face) takes an interest in their gift, hearing rumors. By that point reader feels like a doll or a puppet. Only to receive attention when they need the public to view them as normal. Trained on what to say and when to smile.

Let's say for weeks they've known about Damien's arrival, but they don't say anything, feeling numb. It's not till they have a prophecy in the middle of another gala of Jason's return that they start feeling alive, knowing Jason is alive reader tells Bruce. A commotion arises as Bruce grows angry, he accuses them of wanting attention and making up a lie. Reader is left, told Alfred will come pick them up. Alone in front of a fancy hotel reader attempts to go back inside but is pushed forward as some people walk by the hotel.

A couple of days later, Bruce must attend another gala, and they soon realize nobody ever spoke to Alfred. The Batfamily will have to see reader being dragged into an alley, it's not till years later when Batman is asked if he wants to have a dance with fate that he sees his child again.

Talking with my friends about our childhood and raising our younger siblings, most of us were latchkey kids (A kid too young left home alone or with siblings while parents are away at work). Having a younger sibling who was five years younger when I became a teenager, I used to take them with me everywhere to underground punk concerts and raves. Having them growing up in that environment had me thinking.

Batfam X Unknown Reader ( Rockstar )

Let's say reader's mom met Bruce when he was in college and she was in the early days of managing a band. He went to a rock show and met readers mom. By then she already has a child . They would occasionally meet up when she was in Gotham until she got pregnant with reader. Not wanting anything to do with Bruce's elite life and being independent, she never tells him. Accepting a job in a record label she never goes back to Gotham with any of the kids,

Reader who has an older sibling and was raised primarily by them. Mom being a band manager, is constantly working and managing different bands is always busy. She loves her kids, but being raised around musicians reader they naturally grow up wanting to become a musician, and years later they do.

The band has the vibe of " The Pretty Reckless" &/or " Maneskin". They're a well-known band, theirs no doubt they'll one day be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Before the Batkids know who Reader is, you can sometimes hear one of them listening to their music. Jason listens to them when he's fixing his bike. Tim blasts their music in his headphones when he's working on a case or handling Wayne Enterprise. Duke is actually the one who introduces the band's music to Tim and Steph ( Nobody can convince me Duke doesn't love Punkrock and Rock music), being an og fan when they were considered a garage band.

Cass prefers their slow melodies when she practices ballet, their more popular songs are played in the background when she or Steph, or Barb have a day off and are hanging out in their apartment. Damien listens to them not by his choice but simply because it's in the background in the Titan Tower, but once Duke mentions they are publicly known for fighting for animal rights and attending rallies, Damien takes an interest. Which leads to Dick taking his siblings to see them live anytime they're close to Gotham for a concert.

So, we all know that journalists always try to make interviews with celebrities interesting to grab a viewer's attention. So how about they had reader and their band do a 23 and Me ( Oh, even better 23 and Me is owned under an umbrella company that Bruce owns), just trying to see where their ancestors are from. Reader is curious about the paternal side of her family, but as a child their mother just brushed off any questions on who their father was, saying it was a random guy. Being raised with a huge amount of uncles and aunts in the music scene reader never had to miss having a father.

The band sends in their DNA weeks prior and the Batcave is notified an alarm ringing, something Bruce never thought he would have to hear after knowing about Damien, so it's surprising when Bruce Wayne and Damien Wayne are standing behind the scenes watching the band as they film the interview.

It would be funny if reader and their band assume they're fans and treat them as such. When it's revealed reader is Wayne, they're just not interested they appreciate being told the truth, but they're an adult. They have a life, a career a family. That's when the family snaps and starts plotting, but how can they kidnap a well-known celebrity.

Dark retellings of fairytales are currently all I'm reading. I'm currently really into listening to Yaelokre and similar artist I really like the folklore type of music that is somewhat dark. Along with rewatching Over the Garden Wall. I present this prompt.

Batfam X Neglected Reader ( Dark Fairytales)

The Wayne Manor spans over acres of land into the forest, too dense to see in between, as do other manors close by. When Tim was a child, he would sometimes hear a melody coming from the forest, where children were running, dancing, and singing. He would peek from his bedroom window from the Drake estate with interest to investigate, to join in their joy, but the thought of disappointing his parents, even with their neglect, outweighed his curiosity. Soon, the melodies and shadows became a distant memory, a dream in the back of his mind when he became Robin, a song no longer called for him.

Growing up in a huge manor reader would run around seeking attention from their family, but being the youngest Wayne promises were broken, and being dismissed became the norm. It isn't that the batfamily ignored them on purpose; being a hero got in the way Bruce was busy being Batman, Dick was busy leading the Titans, Jason leading the Outlaws and managing Crime Alley, Tim leading The Young Justice and being a CEO, Duke balancing College and being a member of the Outsiders with Cass, Damian was leading the Teen Titans, Steph was busy with her own groups with Cass and Barbra being batgirls and being members of the Birds of Prey. The huge age gap between their siblings was too far for them to have anything in common with their older siblings, as much as everyone tried, there was so much they could speak about.

Bruce was too protective, fearing his youngest would meet the same fate as all his other children had. Having a brush with death, the family agreed to keep the youngest Wayne away from the superhero life. They were aware of what the family did, but any mention of joining was quickly shut down, instead distracting them as much as the family could.

Being a child filled with curiosity, they would explore the many rooms around the manor and spend the majority of their time reading fairytales in the library. Armed with the thirst of adventure, they began to explore the grounds warned by Alfred to stay close enough so he could check up on them out of the many windows in the manor.

Days of spending time in the garden and visiting Damian's animals. Their curiosity turned towards the forest. There were many instances when they would hear rustling from the dense forest. They asked Alfred about it once, but he assured them it was probably just an animal, a rabbit perhaps. But animals didn't wear masks, and the children watching reader weren't animals. They often giggled when reader would step toward them, slipping further into the forest, beckoning them to join them, but any time their foot stepped in the forest, they would hear their name being called from the manor, and the spell would break.

Mentioning the children with masks to the Batfamily was taken as reader's imagination. They knew of their love of fairytales, so they would play along, making up stories of the children in the woods when reader asked. Unknowingly, creating trust between reader and the children.

As Tim grew older, the forest stopped looking inviting, looking too long into it left him unsettled. Sometimes he felt like he was being watched, but he chalked it up to simply being paranoid. Tim didn't know about the stories his siblings were making up or the questions reader was asking. Coming back from a mission, he spent his downtime in his penthouse in the city; time spent in the manor was spent on a case in the Batcave or hanging out with his siblings while reader was out exploring or reading.

At night, a melody would play, and the children would play. The manor was kept under lock and key to keep the youngest safe while the bats and birds kept Gotham safe. Nobody could get in or out without Alfred or Barbara finding out.

Until one night, when everyone came home from patrol, an alarm began to sound. Alarmed camera feeds were pulled up, confused, they'd see reader opening one of the French doors leading towards the garden. Surprised Alfred would head up, wondering what reader was doing, someone would joke that they probably wanted to play with the children in the forest, causing Tim to stiffen, asking for an explanation, all he would reply was that they're real as he bolted upstairs.

The Batfamily would rush upstairs, hearing Alfred call out for reader. Stepping outside, Tim would hear a melody he hadn't heard in years, once comforting, now filled him with anxiety. Rushing towards the back of the garden, the rest of the family would see the youngest Wayne stepping into the forest line as a group of children waited for them, faces half covered, smiling with teeth too sharp.

So here are the prompts I'm currently working on. I'm finally out of my slump, and these next few days I'll probably be posting them. Hopefully, some of you find inspiration and have fun writing. I do want to try my hand on writing some of these I'm just not sure which one yet.

Batman x Reader (Mamma Mia!) - 100% (Reader's mom fell a couple of times for a couple of superheroes.)

Batman x Reader [ P.I (Private Investigator) ] - 40% ( P. I reader with a dash of supernatural situations.) I'm having so much fun writing this, I'm leaning more into horror with this one.

Batman x Reader (Crime Lord) - 10% ( Of course, the new crime lord hitting the east cost came from Gotham and was Bruce Wayne's secret child)

Batfam x Reader (Ghost Rider) - 2% ( I'm not sure yet where I'm going with this one, honestly, I'm still doing research )

Batfam x Reader (Female Rage) - 0% ( I need a story of reader just crashing out, killing every henchman and villain they find, trying to find their child in Gotham.)
