Hey :)

How is everyone? I haven't played my game much in the last few years, but I'm kind of excited by what I'm seeing so far of the Growing Together pack. And finally, non-generic babies! It makes me want to play again. What do you guys think of the upcoming expansion and infant update?

Uh...nothing! :-( I keep trying to read stuff and getting too distracted to make it past the first few pages. It stinks because I used to love reading. Ah well, I will keep trying!

5. Sweet, spicy or savory

Sweet but with a kind of savory/salty edge, like chocolate peanut butter ice cream

Chocolate peanut butter ice cream :-p

7. Tea or coffee

Neither, really, although I really don't care for coffee, so if I had to choose one, it would be tea! Sometimes I like a good sweet tea in summer, or a hot chai tea in winter. But mostly I drink water and diet soda.

8. Currently working on

I have the building bug lately even though I haven't booted up my game much...I have the day off tomorrow for the holiday (observed) so maybe I'll see if I can build something *hopeful but slightly pained smile*

Any build requests?

Hey all! So I really have the creative itch lately, but I don’t know what to build. I feel a bit rusty and would like to try building something small and relatively simple. Does anyone have any requests? Let’s stick to residential for now. Also I would love it if you could provide at least one inspiration picture. Let me know!

Hey!

How are you all doing? I miss you. I feel totally out of the loop with Sims. I know there was a Star Wars game pack that was perhaps not very well received, and we have a new EP coming soon that has snowy activities and a Japanese theme. Are you excited for it? Feeling meh? I miss building but I don’t miss gameplay all that much. Are there any mods spicing things up? Fill me in on what you’ve been up to!!

Oodles of time to build

So I’m on leave from work for the next 1-2 months, which gives me a ton of time to work on Sims builds. I can’t make any promises, but I’d really like to focus on my mega-save and see how far I can get. I’m going to be methodical about it and attempt to finish up my Willow Creek re-do first (although I may upload some of my Strangerville lots as well). Then I’ll probably go in order - since Oasis Springs and Newcrest are already done, next would be Magnolia Promenade, then Windenburg. To make the process go faster, I might ask for some playtesters. I might also do only Gallery uploads since taking pics and writing up download posts can be a little time-consuming in itself. :) Anyway, if you have any suggestions, ideas, inspiration pics, feedback, whatever - feel free to send me a message!

Community lot update

I want to thank everyone who gave me suggestions for community lots! I’ve filed them all away as possibilities for future builds. :) 

Lately I’ve been working on my Willow Creek re-do (for the mega-save), so although I didn’t specify it in my post, I was looking for ideas for the “downtown” area of that world. Since a few of you mentioned wanting a lounge/club - @eowijnssims, @vanityunfaire, @trash-can-for-heart, @tofusaucee, and @spacylady01 - and I’ve never actually built one, I decided to tackle that. I liked trash-can-for-heart’s idea of giving it a Louisiana influence, since my makeover of Willow Creek is based on southern American cities (and I’ve already built a bunch of New Orleans-inspired cottages), so that’s what I’m going with.

My question for you guys, however, is what kinds of features do you look for in a Lounge lot for your Sims? Since I’ve never built one, and I don’t play all that often, I don’t see them as that much different from bars - you could easily change a bar to a lounge by just adding a microphone and a guitar. XD So are there some specific activities or functions that you would like a Lounge lot to have? Do you see them as slightly fancier bars? Or can they be a bit divey? Are you looking for places to take Sims on dates, or places where your musician/comedian Sims can perform? I welcome any and all suggestions and ideas!!!

Update: Added a little preview pic of what I started; it’s pretty par for the course when it comes to New Orleans/French Quarter style builds, but maybe it’ll give you guys some ideas?

Anyone having trouble uploading files to SimFileShare since their recent migration? I can download stuff now but I can’t seem to upload anything.
