currently: hacking away at a fic that started off as a shitpost to scratch an itch in my brain but is now at 10k wc because this user doesn’t know when to let things be
damn i really be looking at my drafts getting tempted to just post them and go despite having not touched them in over a year and the drafts being no where near fully finished n ready for the public eye
@himemasa (won’t let me tag you either,,, oh my god,,,) — thank you so, SO much for your thoughtful ask! it truly made my day, and i really wish my mumbling bumbling self hadn’t deleted it (i hate my thumbs rn). i’ll grab what little bits and pieces i recall.
the part about my descriptions, feeling the mc’s discomfort without outright saying so — this part warmed my heart. i don’t consider myself much of a writer, but something i’ve always heard & seen is to “show, not tell” when writing feelings. i’m beyond elated to hear that this was a success, at least for part 1 of Think About It.
the part about feeling like you were the one living it / being a part of it / watching it (i forgot the exact phrase you used i’m sorry!) — THIS MADE ME SO HAPPY. ik i said this in the a/n portion of the fic but i pulled a lot of these scenes, descriptors, & character traits from my own life - places i’ve been, situations i’ve been in, people i know. some of the situations the characters are in are loose interpretations of things my friends have gone through as well.
the part about how i have enough time to each character for them to have their own traits/story — hehe THANK YOU for acknowledging this as well! some of my favorite fics (& films) are ones that have intricate, well-written characters (main AND side) with their own backstories that undergo lots of character development. i wanted to implement this into my own work as well ... my fave character in part 1 other than the mc is probably megan :) this changes for future parts though... i’m in jaehyun’s corner but you didn’t hear anything from me
the part about me being a busy person and overloading myself on classwork & other responsibilities — yeah :( this point still holds true - if anything, i’m actually adding MORE to my workload as we speak - but i appreciate the time & effort you put into sending this ask! i also appreciate you & everyone else who has chosen to read my works - it means a lot to me, it really does. [after reading your ask i almost pulled up the unfinished word doc for part 2 hahaaaa]
this is a lengthy response but honestly this (now nonexistent, and i’m going to give myself a hard time for it) ask deserved it! i love LOVE getting feedback from everyone. much MUCH love, and hopefully when life gets a little lighter and days are a little easier to tackle i’ll return with more works. :)
me reading my own wip: damn this is good i wonder how it ends
i will be in the process of removing all works about mark from this blog.
