230109 JENN INSTAGRAM UPDATE
jenn_kang My 5th mini album is now out! The response so far is amazing and I’m so grateful to everyone who has taken time out of their day to listen to it.
This album means a lot to me and is one of my most cherished works today. I started writing it during the middle of 2022 and had no idea it would take this long to put out. But I am so happy with it and hope you can find comfort within it like I do.
Suffering is a long and hard journey to embark on, and I applaud anyone who has experienced it firsthand. I am lucky to be surrounded by such amazing people and I would like to thank a lot of people personally here.
Thank you to all the producers and composers who I worked alongside. I still have a long way to go with my abilities, but with their help I was able to create my vision perfectly. Thank you to my stylists, hair and makeup artists. Your work is so beautiful and nothing you do ever goes unrecognized. Thank you for sharing laughs and smiles with me during our time together. Thank you to all the staff at Sublime, you all are so kind and treat us so well.
Thank you to my mother. It is because of you that I am the person I am today. She is such a beautiful existence and I don’t know what I’d do without her.
My members. You guys are my rock and one of my driving forces to get me through everyday. Thank you Jaebeom for always standing behind me and supporting me in everything I do. Thank you Youngjae for keeping me sane even when you may be losing your mind too. Thank you BamBam for always making me laugh when I need it. You all mean the world to me and I can’t thank the universe enough for giving me seven best friends for life.
Finally, ahgases. Thank you. I love you so much. I hope I can be a source of strength for you just as you have been for me. I have been in this industry for almost 6 years now and I have always been given so much love that I have no idea how to pay back. I hope always be a person that you can always be proud of without having shame. I continue to pursue what I love while having each and every one of you in my thoughts. I love what I do and I love being able to share such an intimate part of me with you. and I love you.
I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn in this lifetime. But I promise, as long as I have a voice or until my body gives out on me, I will always be creating music.

Transcending is the 5th mini album by GOT7′s Jenn. It was released on January 9, 2023, with “Heroine” serving as the album’s title track. “ISLAND” and “How U doing (잘 지내)” also served as a double subtitle track.
She wrote and composed all songs on the album herself with the help of other amazing artists. Jenn says the album is all about her journey of transcending suffering.

― HIGHLIGHTS
By 10:30 p.m. KST, “Heroine” had grabbed the No. 1 spots on five of Korea’s major realtime charts, including Korea’s largest music site Melon, as well as Genie, Bugs, Naver, and Soribada. It also came in at No. 2 on Mnet’s realtime chart.
Her comeback showcase took place two hours after the album’s release and was MCed by BamBam.
She appeared on GOT7 Youngjae’s Best Friend.
Jenn incorporated sign language into her performance of “How U doing (잘 지내)”.
It was also announced that she would be holding her first solo concert.
