The following will be ultra cheesy, but I truly give no flips. A decade goes by faster than you know, zips by. One day you are in your late 20s and the next you are pushing forty with so much more life experience and wisdom. I learned this lesson and I have vowed to not let that much time go by without seeing these amazing women. This reunion really has restored me. It feels like home being with these three. We may have lost touch for a variety of reasons (LIFE DOES THAT, I TELL YA), but it is like time hadn't passed and that is such a dang blessing. I love these three so, so much. Jennuary Day 5 is Origin Story. So when people ask me what it was that made me want to make art way back when I was a kid, I say one of two things, and one of those things is Astro Boy, both the manga and the 80s anime. And it occurred to me that I had never painted my robot hero (although Atlas was my favourite character), so it was about time I did. And after the hours spent on this painting trying to make metal look like flesh but also like metal I'm glad it's over... 😅😅😅 Oh, and prints are available in my shop! Jennuary Day 7: Home. I've struggled with art a lot today and you know what they say when you don't know what to draw, just draw what's around you. So every morning I take my dog for a walk and a swim in the creek near my house and right now her favourite swimming hole is covered in wild lillypilly berries, and I just love the colour of them next to all the stones and leaves.
