Week Two at Jentel

Another beautiful week at my Jentel Residency. I am with an amazing group of talented people that I have come to love! 

I am experimenting with a lot of different styles so am working small and doing some larger landscapes. Will be exciting to see what this week brings!

First weekend at Jentel

Although it took a bit to get here it was well worth the wait. A truly magical place to create, be inspired and relaxed. I am with an absolutely incredible group of visual artists and writers, truly wonderful people. I started a dog painting just to get into the swing of things. Today however the imagination started going and I'm starting some new things. I think birds will be a theme here for me.

Jentel Artist Residency Program, Wyoming

The Jentel Artist Residency Program offers dedicated individuals a supportive environment in which to further their creative development.  Here artists and writers experience unfettered time to allow for thoughtful reflection and meditation on the creative process in a setting that preserves the agricultural and historical integrity of the land.

Geography: Open to US artists, Open to non-US artists

Additional eligibility information: 

To this lo-tech residency, Jentel welcomes visual artists working in all media and writers working in all genre. Applicants are US citizens or members of the international arts community currently living in the United States. The minimum age is 25 years. Student applications are not accepted. Residents may reapply after three years.

Application deadline: January 15, September 15

Additional deadline info:

Deadline: January 15 for the May 15 - December 13 residencies (notification by March 15) AND September 15 for the January 15 - May 13 residencies (notification by November 15). Depending on the months, residencies average twenty-six to twenty-nine days.

Residency Fees

Application includes a fee of $20. Once awarded a residency, residents forward a deposit of $100 to reserve their month. Residents are responsible for their travel, working materials and personal items during the residency.

Stipends / other support

The residency award includes a $400 stipend to help defray the costs of food and personal items during the residency. Residents are encouraged to apply for funding support from state and community arts and culture agencies. Past residents have been successful in securing support from foundations in their region or discipline.
